Praying social distance/quarantine and healthcare system can flatten the curve…yesterday I drove past local HS (getting supplies) w/ 15 MS age kids congregating on field... c'mon people, use common sense.

186,000 cases today per the CDC. So you were “conservatively” off by ... quite a bit. We’ll check back with this ice cold take on April 9th!

Um ... they are not all that far off.

Why did the Chinese Communists now REOPEN their "WET MARKETS"....

selling live bats, dogs, cats to eat??

They're called WET because the places are swimming in a bloody mess, as the animals get freshly slaughtered before your eyes.

Since the communists are saying this started with live bats sold to eat in the wet markets, why did they reopen the wet markets? Perhaps they aren't believing their own lies?

Anyone?

They would be really reluctant to do such a thing because it’s a huge part of Chinese culture especially with the older generations. They should shut them down though.

They need to at least do something about bats and birds. They’re linked to SO many diseases. Not just in China but MERS in the Middle East was also linked to bats. This is something that could be accomplished because of the fact that China is a totalitarian society and people who break the rules run the risk of essentially becoming non-persons in their country. Unfortunately the world depends on cheap Chinese goods so much that pressure from the international community on anything is laughed off.

PP here - I was using JHU's Coronavirus site (https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html) which usually has more up-to-date numbers US and worldwide, pulling live data from different sources, etc. Current US numbers (8:49 pm EST) show 213K+ US cases (5% off) which let's hope doesn't increase tonight.

The daily number of tests in the US has plateaued, per this Wired article. And there is a backlog of tests. We have no idea what the real current status of this virus is in the US.

I have in laws in a minor hot spot: there is a massive shortage of avail tests--"nearly impossible" to get a test in their county.

This positive #s they are feeding us are BS. They only thing they can't hide is the body count.

It’s ridiculous the turnaround time to get results. We are telling patients 7-10 days.
