Hardly. Try that trip yourself. And then look at the lovely bike lanes and sidewalks we have that people and kids actually use to walk or ride bikes to Woodward. Easy access for ALL our families, including those without cars. |
Definitely going to need to raise those property taxes to fix all the schools. |
Have you ever tried this trip yourself? Maybe give it a try. |
Umm yes, often. My kid had practice over there. Nightmarish traffic. |
Plus all the additional bus expenses. It’s gonna be great! And yes, that affects rents too as your landlords will add it into your rent. |
Yes going east in the afternoon is rough. Thankfully the bus will be going west in the afternoon. |
Money well spent. Let’s improve all schools and not bus to give the appearance of doing something. Sticking it to west county people isn’t a good reason for bussing kids 45 minutes each way to school even if it would delight a few sad people |
as has been detailed 1,000 times in this thread, the time it takes to drive in a private vehicle is different from the time it takes in a school bus. |
for something objective, note that MCPS considers 4 miles a "far" distance to school, and that distance only occurs in much less dense areas of the county.
the distance from Farmland ES to Kennedy is something like 6.5 miles. |
But the cost of sticking it to west county is priceless. That is what is driving most of the east county oh but we care about people and you just want to hoard BS |
notably, option 3 buses lots of kids far distances. It isn't just west county. but I agree that just wanting to see people hurt for not benefit is not a good look. |
It’s practice. We drove both ways in that hellish traffic. |
And, what about when kids have to stay after school/sports at night/early evening. |
This is divisive as can be. It has devolved into option 3 existing to stick it to West county. I hope the next set of options Flo presents are less divisive. |
We are 10 minutes from our school. The bus, with the last drop off is 40 minutes (we are the last pick up for the AM so that's 10 minutes). The bus does a weird loop passing our house with no stop as its 1.8 miles to get to the start of the pick up route and then drop off. |
