the distance from Farmland ES to Kennedy is something like 6.5 miles.

But the cost of sticking it to west county is priceless. That is what is driving most of the east county oh but we care about people and you just want to hoard BS

notably, option 3 buses lots of kids far distances. It isn't just west county.

but I agree that just wanting to see people hurt for not benefit is not a good look.

This is divisive as can be. It has devolved into option 3 existing to stick it to West county. I hope the next set of options Flo presents are less divisive.

I am at a loss as to why Flo/BOE/MCPS felt it necessary to put Option 3 out there. It reflects some serious lack of forethought and competence. And a lack of understanding of methods to effectively increase diversity in schools (or even improve the educational outcomes of low income kids).

It just doesn’t have to be this way. Use some common sense Flo - don’t bus kids 45 minutes and certainly don’t bus walkers!

I don't want anybody to get hurt. I do think laying bare the entitlement and resource hoarding of certain individuals in our community is pretty interesting.

Yes, a 6+ mile bus ride seems excessive and not worth the squeeze but it is hardly catastrophic. I doubt they will do it but some of the reactions on here are hysterical.

Performative liberalism hurts the causes you claim to care about.

Which leads me to wonder if you actually care about those causes or if instead you are more driven by a need to stick it to people while cloaking your arguments in moralistic language. In a way it is very maga of you!

Resource hoarding. Spare me.

I always vote for politicians who run on platforms dedicated to closing the opportunity gap. I support raising taxes to do so. I live in west county. I don’t want any kids on long bus rides and I want to improve all schools.

Just understand that those hurt most by option 3 (and your advocacy in favor of it) will be FARMS students and their families bussed a long way. No one really cares about the other stuff.

I haven't advocated for Option 3 lol. I do find the discourse in opposition to Option 3 hysterical and in some cases pretty offensive.

Take for example your attempt to use FARMS kids to advocate for your own interests. That's pretty gross. Speak for yourself.

Basically, option 3 buses the large majority of current FARMS kids at WJ to Kennedy. I understand it will bus in other FARMS kids to Woodward. Is that what you really want?

Yes some neighborhoods that would be bussed are high income but their kids will go Catholic etc. so you can’t really count on those demographics.

It’s true though. Most of the kids who were from high FARMS neighborhoods at WJ are being bussed to Kennedy under option 3.

Agreed. We should speak for ourselves. That is what you do when you lay bare your delight in sticking it to people.
Time to do some introspection on what motivates you to speak out. Are you trying to help solve problems or just be gotcha?

Then they should end the consortiums.
