What is the most overrated school popular among the dc metro area crowd?

Also, I don't know which crazy Payscale poster you are referring to as this is my first time reading this thread and I won't be the last to raise this problem.

There's also a very thoroughly done Georgetown University report done based on the DOE's College Scorecard that estimates 10, 20, 30, 40-year ROIs. U of C is not ranked as low as in the self-reported Payscale ROI ranking but not high either compared to its peer schools; this clearly does not correspond to its current ranking or perceived prestige.

Higher in this thread the Georgetown NPVs have been discussed. They have lots of problems. The best option is to visit a school’s website and review their outcome data.

+1. Ivies are soooo overrrated... so we created a term for schools that are TOTALLY just as if not MORE elite and we called it IVY plus. lol

Emory is not quite at the level of the other schools. I'd say it's accurately rated.

If anything UChicago and Northwestern are underrated due to being in the Midwest. And the DC area crowd despises the Midwest.

You all are so misinformed it’s embarrassing. Ivy Plus was coined by Ivy League schools themselves and is used in a limited, official capacity when discussing library exchanges, consortia, faculty conferences, you name it. It’s also a term used by Ivy League alumni associations for networking purposes. Example: http://rmhuc.clubs.harvard.edu/article.html?aid=265
