Outcomes are great at Duke. Just like Stanford. But both schools have a rep for being fun schools full of interesting students. This dates back to the 90s. But neither school lives up to that these days. The reality is that both schools are kind of boring today. Stanford is culturally oppressive. And Duke is a dull grinder school. They're not even douchebags anymore. So... overrated. |
Vassar was a huge disappointment.
The campus wasn’t very attractive - some buildings had layers of peeling paint and few updates. It was kind of depressing. Only two nice building. I expected more. Lesser known schools have done a better job with maintenance. |
Perhaps, but so many applying seem to be looking at the sports experience. |
UVA |
You must be fun at parties 🙄 |
Having semi-pro teams associated with universities (as well as the associated cost) is one of the things that distinguishes the U.S. higher education. |
George Mason University |
Most are overrated. Incorrectly rated, really. U.S. universities are the most expensive in the world, yet the percentage of people with college degrees has gone from world-leading to middle- of-the-pack among OECD countries over the last 35 years. USNWR rewards on resources (higher costs) rather than efficiency when student loan debt is over $1.7 Trillion. Terrible consequences. |
