If no fall season payments stop and the due dates are shifted to begin in January, not end in January.
Hope for a spring season at least, at discounted rate since there would not have been any tournaments.

It’s a business not a charity.

It is, in fact, a non-profit, and one that is very generous with financial aid (or it was pre-COVID).

Theyre providing a service, not a charity.

Its not crazy to think that parents will raise an eyebrow if paying 3k for a techne futbol app and every other day runs.

Non profit is not an excuse not to work with families on partial refunds or credits for fall. Many of these youth sports companies are non profit, including MSI who refunded 100% for spring. (Smaller price tag but significantly more kids)

You have to be clear. MSI refunded 100% of fees for their Rec and Classic Programs only. They are still waiting for NCSL & EDP to refund the league fees before they can refund the money to parents.

Hope others are doing the same.
I have heard the same thing from a few BSC families. Some families have 3 kids, so they would be out $10k in the likely scenario that soccer does not take place. Even if soccer comes back in 2021 in some form, that is a lot of money to commit to at a time of uncertainty.

What are other MD-based ECNL clubs doing (Maryland United, Pipeline, etc.)? Is BSC the only club in the area requiring a binding financial commitment now?

MD United already squared away their players with refund/credit amounts, and gave a Jun 1st deadline to respond to accepting a spot on a team. Which makes it even more perplexing as to why BSC is delaying an announcement of refunds/credits, and the rush to respond to offers.

I believe clubs who separated their fall and spring payments, stopped spring payments back in March. So MD United came up with a plan to get parents to accept a spot. Does that mean you are committing to pay for fall season? What if there's no fall season, then what? Do they keep giving you a credit until A season starts? People be smart and think things through when committing to Fall season.

BSC thinks they're "all that" and they're lazy. They COULD figure out how much $ it would take to pay the staff if no fields are required, no tournaments happen, etc., and collect those funds. Rush has already announced that they won't charge credit cards or deposit checks for the August Cup or Rush for the Cup over Labor Day if the tournaments aren't guaranteed to go forward. People can pivot to address the times; BSC just isn't.

Has anyone heard official details about outside tryouts at BSC? Guessing they may be delayed again since Mont Co going to be delayed in reopening.

If, as one of the earlier threads suggested, BSC has already given out invites for roster spots on their top teams, are these external tryouts only for their 2nd teams and below? We're interested in the U12-U14 age-group.

They have given out invitations to all current players, not just top teams. But even in normal years, there will be families left for whatever reason.

They original planed to have try out for outside players after Jun. 1. But the date may change.

Lots of families are leaving. Just tryout and if you don't like the team, decline. The teams are listed in order on their site.

For families leaving, does that include ECNL 1 and 2 team members?
Anonymous
Been with BSC for years, they do pick most of the kids from within existing rosters, but always leave a few roster spots open for tryouts.
