Senate Democrats sending secret letter about Kavanaugh to FBI

But then again, these are probably the same people who 1) wanted Al Franken's head on a platter and 2) though Roy Moore was fine because he was allegedly only *courting* 14 year olds and touching them over their underwear, not trying to have sex with them!

This allegation is but one thing in a now-growing list of reasons why this nominee needs to be looked into further before he is confirmed. Every single conservative/republican on this thread knows that if these issues had arisen for a SCOTUS (or ANY) nominee from a Democrat president that every GOP elected and republican citizen would be up in arms demanding these things be cleared up. To suggest otherwise is pathological.

He didn’t even allegedly “attempt” to penetrate her. So what is he alleged to have done? Made some girl feel uncomfortable?

Jesus, at BEST what he is accused to have done is physical assault.

A thousand times yes to this

If we didn’t have this past history and desperate acts of the Democrats, you might have a point....But, this last, eleventh hour, hail mary attempt screams of yet another attempt to thwart this nominee. We’re not falling for it.

We have the Democrats, who, before the nominee was even named, vowed to do everything they could to stop this nomination.
Chuck Schumer said they would fight it “by all means necessary.”

They protested at the hearings and interrupted with screaming voices, hateful signs and “bloody crotches.”
Cory Booker had his “Spartacus” moment and released supposedly Committee Confidential documents (that weren’t) which turned out to do more to support Kavanaugh than to slander him.
Kamala Harris tried to cryptically make implications that fell flat.
Liberals have tried to say he committed perjury, even though many liberals sites and legal experts have contradicted that.
Liberals have attempted to slander him with a “gambling addiction” with absolutely no evidence of such.
Democrats on the committee tried to intimidate him with thousands of follow up questions - more than any of the past nominees combined.

Republicans: so what if he tried to rape a woman? Did you think about all of the women he DIDN’T try to rape? This is an insult to them!

Something just doesn't sit right with me on this accusation. (I am a liberal D).

I had the same reaction to the Rolling Stone article. This doesn't fit the profile. It is too over the top to be believable. That he held his hand on her mouth, that he turned up music so people couldnt hear her, and that another boy was there? This isn't how it typically happens. That these guys would take the risk with something that was so obviously rape, and that no one would talk about it, hear it, that she wouldn't report it or tell a friend or parent or the school. Or that the other boy wouldn't go brag to others. Rape in these settings is more insidious and devious.

Just my two cents.

(I am guessing this accuser will come forward).

Why? Because they are willing to put out their names publicly in support of an honorable man?
Contrast that with some woman who anonymously makes a charge for which there is no proof or evidence.

She said she sought psycological help in dealing with it. Lets see what the psychologist says.

Great, so now we are listening to a *mentally-deranged* anonymous accuser.

The psychologist is better qualified to make a judgement on her mental status than you. Lets wait and see what s/he says.

I’m not a Kavanaugh supporter and I’d hoped that he would not be confirmed. But this 11th hour character assassination reeks of desperation and only underscores why there are statutes of limitations in many states, if not Maryland, for sexual asssult. All we have here are unproven, anonymous allegations, made against a controversial nominee whom any number of left-wing partisans have made clear they will try to defeat at any cost and by any means at their disposal. Where was this accuser when Kavanaugh was appointed or nominated to other positions years ago?

It makes me sick that Democratic politicians have sunk to this level. I actually have more respect for Kavanaugh than I do for politicians of either party at this point. This country has become a total embarrassment.

How do you think rape “typically happens”, exactly?

The GOP has known just as long. They’ve chosen to keep this under wraps. What else are they hiding?

You can bet she told a friend and you can bet Kavanaugh and "helper" also did this to other girls.

It's funny how the only people who feel compelled to disclose their political affiliations on this thread are Democrats, and they all want this story to go away so Kavanaugh can be confirmed.

You can bet that anonymous posters on social media will make allegations and predictions that will not come to fruition too.

No it's not - or at least it wasn't back in the day at high school/college parties. I actually had a very similar experience to this woman's at a college party in 1982. One guy held me down while the other started taking off my jeans. I was saved when my 2 friends who had gone to look for me opened the bedroom door.

The story sounds believable to me. And I also understand why the woman won't come forward - I can't even imagine the extent to which she would be pilloried.

It’s weird, isn’t it?
