exactly, and thank you.
who will take our children at their word. arrest, arrest, arrest.

My friend spoke w several people with legal background, all mentioned the words preventive arrest. Why is this not happening? The allegations involve a father. If very light, by all means I understand protecting his reputation. If not, he may be hosting your children for a playdate or a sleepover as we speak. He may be coaching the kids in your neighborhood. He may still babysit kids from school, believe it or not there are a few parents who do not know who he is.

"Preventative arrest?" I doubt your friends with legal background (whatever that means) work in criminal law. You either have sufficient evidence for an arrest or you don't. You can't just arrest someone because you fear he might commit a future crime. This isn't that movie (blanking on name) where computers let cops make arrests before the crime is committed.

This is FALSE!!!

“We are deeply troubled by the allegations and are addressing them utilizing internal and external resources. Likewise, we are working closely with the affected families to provide information, counseling and support.”

Neither the investigation nor the school are working AT ALL with affected families let alone working closely. FACT: Neither party has contacted or reached out to families who were in the daily care of this suspect. Instead the opposite is true and families WHO WERE IN THE DAILY CARE AND SUPERVISION OF THE SUSPECT HAVE BEEN URGED TO RETURN TO SCHOOL!

If a child was exposed to sexual abuse as a victim or witness there is little chance that those children will feel comfortable revealing this information upon returning to a place of trauma. These parents are only making the matter worse for their children and you will not know if your child was exposed or victimized until they are in a safe space.

The lack of care and transparency towards families is evident...the counsel and PR firm are doing a wonderful job protecting WHC NOT the children.

...as they are hired to do. Don't forget that. They are working for the temple, not the families. Please please please, teachers and parents alike, reach out to the detective with anything you think may be at all relevant. Anything. At all. During any period of time.

The allegations must be serious and credible to the extent to open an investigation. This quote is frightening to hear from the legal counsel. If I were a parent, I would take his words as a massive slip and clear truth as to what happened and could happen at WHC.

I also hope that everyone suspecting their kid is a victim, does share information w the detective, though it must not be easy. I heard a lot of second hand information from teachers. Not sure if they are sharing thia w the detectives, or they may be afraid to come fwd... Would it be helpful for all victims and potential victims (parents of kids in teacher’s daily care) to meet and discuss?

I asked the detective recently if WHC has given them the names of all kids who had ever been in the care of this teacher, including camp, substitute teaching, etc. She refused to answer, only saying she can’t comment on an ongoing investigation. She did say that they have “all the class lists”, but that doesn’t cover kids who came into contact with this teacher outside of regular classroom hours. My interpretation of her response is that they still don’t have the larger list of kids and/or they don’t plan to talk to all potentially affected families. Based on the last few posts, it seems my interpretation was correct. I think MPD is only investigating the cases where children actively told their parents that something happened, rather than trying to find all the victims.

Either WHC is not cooperating with the investigation, or MPD isn’t doing their job.

Did the detective indicate if she was speaking with other teachers at WHC who may have observed any questionable, even if not illegal, behavior?

I didn’t ask that specifically (it’s an excellent question though), but in general she refused to answer any questions I asked. But it’s certeinly worth a call or email to her to ask. Frankly the more parents they hear from the better.

There sounds like there is a lot of speculation going on in this forum. My understanding is that the police are still investigating. It seems harsh to say that they are not doing their job. I, for one would like to see a full and complete investigation done. Of course they can’t share information on the case as it will compromise the investigation. It is easy to post half truth and innuendos on here, but I fear we will not know the real truth until the police have completed their job.

Ok let me rephrase - in my opinion, they are not doing their job very well and I, personally, don’t have confidence in either party right now.

Better? Am I allowed to have my own opinion about it and share it here?

My post was not directed at you particularly. Of course you are allowed your own opinion. I am wondering what you think the police could do differently to gain your trust?

Det Buc has been on leave for the past week. Since the Thursday meeting, who has been pushing the investigation forward? Timing is everything.

I spoke with Detective Buc on Monday. She said she had been sick on Friday but was back at work on Monday when I spoke with her.
