IG needs to release full accounting of all specia placements, anonymized by students and schools, to provide clearer picture of how this authority used and the stent of abuse. There may be other questionable placements but there will certainly be legitimate cases too.

Dang, this city is so corrupt. I love how Snowden's title is Deputy Mayor of Greater Economic Opportunity. Guess we know her playbook on acheiving greater economic opportunity. Secure yourself a spot at a top notch public elementary to save tens of thousands on private tution. Force staff to babysit. Use a goverment vehicle to save wear and tear on your own. I discussed this with my husband. I believe folks like this have an inflated, though sometimes legitimate sense of how much they would be making in the private sector. Though they can't be sure, they convince themselves their public work is a huge sacrifice. Then they start rationalizing taking advantage.

Most of these highfallutin' deputy mayor level appointmentees are so underwhelming, they wouldn't last two weeks in the private sector. The exception is if they land a lot with a leech contractor like Ft Meyer Construction and then parley their D.C. government connections to suck even more at the taxpayer teat.
