Murder at Lululemon in Bethesda

Most likely what they used to kill Jayna they found in the store. The box cutter is a tool for a store that has merchandise and any store has a hammer. I do in my store! I truly think that something triggered this rage. Like for instance....if it turns out that she knew these guys and recognized them they had to do something because they didn't want to go to jail. Of course they obviously weren't thinking rationally but who would once they cross the line! I don't even necessarily believe that they planned a rape! Maybe they had to do that in order to make it seem different than it was intended to be in the first place?! And more than anything I just can't imagine that someone that was capable of committing a crime of that nature would leave a witness. Her injuries wer not life threatening and she has been out of the hospital for 2 days. If she did know them I can't imagine in a million years that she would have expected the situation to go anywhere near where it ended up even if she had anything to do with it! And who knows....maybe someone forced her to do that to get them in there or they would harm her. There are so many possibilities.....I am hoping that we find out sooner than later!

I am not sure what MD's policy is but yes- most times unless you are convicted of rape or another heinous crime they will not ahve your DNA on file. It costs alot of money to take it from criminals and process so they do not do it for evey crime committed. That said, the chances they have raped before and are in the system would be slim is my guess but who knows. With just DNA you cannot do too much. All I know is the first 48 hours are crucial and not its the 6th day. I erally hope the cops know a lot more because then they let on. Someone I know who works at a large company in Bethesda said they boss called to contribute moneu to the donation fund and the cops said it was great because it makes more incentive to turn in the suspects and I just hope they are not relying on this to catch them!

I find it truly hard to believe that no camera or person saw anything. But maybe just maybe.

I still can't get over the fact that someone has admitted to hearing screams for help but they did not bother to call 911.

I wonder how they sleep at night. Also, someone has to know something. Criminals are rarely smart enough to cover all their tracks, especially when the crime is so bloody. It would be nice to see more news coverage on the reward because maybe the news has not spread.

That person will have to live with himself/herself for the rest of their life knowing what happened. Hard to believe someone could be that self-centered not to bother. My daughter works around there and I hate the thought of her closing the store.

This could very well be a "hindsight is 20/20" kind of thing. Perhaps they thought they heard teens goofing around outside or something, but after the fact, they realized it could have been one of the victim's crying for help.

I have definitely heard about this person not calling from the Apple store on this blog but is it hear-say? No news center I have tuned into has said this nor the police? Where are you getting this from?

That is REALLY crazy! Apparently someone just popped their head out the door to see what they screams were from and when they didn't see anything they shrugged their shoulders and dismissed it! Moral of the story....If you EVER hear a cry for help.....CALL the POLICE!

And yes I agree.....time is of the essence in a case like this. But I don't think they found the murderers for the Starbuck's murders in Georgetown very quickly....the good news is though that they DID catch them. You know that someone is going to open their big mouth and that is going to trigger something since their is a reward. And their personalities have to be in a completely altered state than from where it was before they committed this murder! Really can you imagine ever being the same. Plus they have to be completely on edge. The only person that would protect someone that they know is not the same as before this crime happened would be a parent! An enabling parent! Meaning if they had some idea that it was possible that their son was the murderer.

And what legitimate news source did you hear this on?

We have to hope the people who are around the two that did this watch tv and even know about all of this.

yeah... the scariest thing is if they're homeless or drifters or completely off the grid.

remember the killing of that young woman in gtown about 10 years ago? she walked from the foxhall nighborhood down to M street taking the path along foxhall and then along where canal road ends and her body was found in the forest. they never found who did it, but found many homeless men living in those woods behind the university. really scary to think about NOT finding the killers in this case.

also, how much experience does the montgomery county police dept have in murders? i wonder if other more experiences law enforcement agencies could step in.

I don't care where you live. I think it is an obligation. God forbid something happens to you and your neighbors have the same attitude.

Officials in PG County should have a lot of experience.

I think it was originally on ABC 7 news that someone heard the cries for help. I could have sworn that it was heard from inside the Apple Store. Someone opened the door and looked outside....saw nothing and forgot about it. I just can't imagine that they didn't scream more than a few times.
