Bad Pub keeps coming ND's way.

Wow! Scary that a current commissioner is so ignorant of their own history. Not surprising for a sub par conference.
The PAC 12 crumbled after Covid and the Big 12 has yet to recover. After spending most of the March 2020 lock down (they probably saw more of each other than they did of their families) with the commissioners of the Big 12, Mountain West, and Jack Swarbrick,- Greg Sankey slithered in and poached Oklahoma and Texas A &M from the Big 12. They were building the current CFP structure.

It is in fact true that ND saved college football during Covid.
Don’t believe me? Here you go:

So funny watching the mommy blog pretend they have even the most cursory understanding of college football.
You all are even worse at this than you are at understanding the admissions process and the proper context of where your precious snowflakes belong.
Would be hysterical if it weren’t so pathetic.

Wow..you are really drinking the Kool Aid aren't you.
.

Interesting that you can’t figure out how to respond to the actual facts as reported by ESPN in 2020

For those who say Notre Dame football is becoming irrelevant, please tell me then why it has taken over the narrative of the college football media to the point that is overshadowing the actual upcoming CFP games being played this coming weekend. If this were any other school, it would have been yesterday's news. This story will continue to thrive for weeks, if not months.

Exactly right.

There are no CFP games this weekend. Gig ‘em.

Because Americans don't like cry babies and quitters. The Fall from Grace Story is always going to be headlines and popular.

Because Notre Dame football portrays itself as holier than thou & too good for any conference, yet cannot even make a 12 team CFP designed with the assistance/input of the former Notre Dame AD to almost assure ND football a place in the CFP. Notre Dame football's pouting & crying like a spoiled child makes ND football an easy target. Nevertheless, the former University of Michigan head coach has now stolen the spotlight so ND football is now irrelevant for the rest of this season.

This whole story is so hilarious. The early Christmas gift I didn't think to ask for.

Pete Bevaqua is out here issuing threats and whining in interviews and press conferences but he can't even articulate exactly what he's mad about. What do they want? Stricter rules about how rankings are determined? Stricter rules about CFP selection? Of course not, because the vagueness in both of those usually benefits Notre Dame more than any other program, as an "independent" program, and in fact the rules were created in large part to benefit Notre Dame. So they don't want to change that.

They can't articulate a reason why they deserve to be the in the CFP over Miami (who beat them) or Alabama (which played a tougher schedule and had the same record going into their conference championship). There are reasons why Notre Dame deserves a spot over a school like Tulane or JMU, but the rules of the CFP, which Bevaqua was instrumental in creating, won't allow it. And most people think schools like that earning their way into the CFP via conference championships is good for the sport. So they aren't advocating for any specific outcome.

And apparently Bevaqua is mad at the ACC for advocating to put an ACC team in the playoffs but it's okay for him to advocate to put ND in the playoffs? And don't even get me started on the weirdness of ND pitching a fit at the ACC when it's *in* the ACC, and only remains independent in football because they want to keep all their TV/sponsorship money for themselves. Like the lack of self awareness there is ridiculous. The ACC would welcome ND football with open arms, even now, but they don't want to be a part of it. Yet Bevaqua thinks he can tell the ACC not to advocate for itself.

Truly, these people are stupid. I know ND is supposed to be a good school with smart students and faculty and academically that is correct. However, it is possible for one's ego to be so large that it blots out your own intelligence and makes you stupid. That is what is happening here.

I wonder if this whole saga will have a negative impact on ND recruiting. It certainly has not been advertisement for the school, has it?

They went to the championship last year. The cxl on the bowl game in support of their players. They have a player up for Heisman award and will likely go first round in the draft. I think they will be just fine for players.

Notre Dame plays such a soft schedule. It's not a showcase school like the SEC and Big 10 schools are for athletes that have NFL ambitions. College football is changing. ND shouldn't be where five star recruits go in this era, especially after the petulance and patheticness of Notre Dame in recent weeks.

From the Bleacher Report today:

CFB ADs threaten to avoid scheduling games against Notre Dame if the MOU favoring Notre Dame football goes into effect next year. Says that if ND football is ranked among top 12 teams, then ND is in the CFP playoffs for the National Championship. Ridiculously unfair advantage to Notre Dame football. Only applies if the CFP is limited to 12 or 14 teams; if the CFP expands to a 16 team (or more) playoff, then the MOU is null & void.

Lots of anger toward primary Donna Notre Dame football from all corners of the college football world.

Time for Notre Dame football to join a conference & to abide by the rules which apply to all other teams. Folks are sick of the special privileges accorded Notre Dame football.

Should be "prima donna Notre Dame football".

(Stupid AI auto-correct.)

This is true, but it will take awhile to play out.

For example, is Texas a better place for a recruit, with its demanding SEC schedule and willingness to schedule tough out of conference opponents like Ohio State, or ND?

Similar with other dominant SEC and B1G teams. The trend is obvious. ND can’t continue to play schedules like the ones this year and next year and expect to remain in the college football elite.
