You really don't know too much. Might want to leave the discussion to the adults. Podunk pretty much says it all for you. |
West Virginia – 41.2% Mississippi – 40.1% Arkansas – 40.0% Louisiana – 39.9% Alabama – 39.2% Oklahoma – 38.7% Indiana – 37.8% Iowa – 37.8% Tennessee – 37.6% Nebraska - 36.6% Looks pretty Southern to me |
At least I’m not provincial like you. |
Time to put down the wine, sweetie. |
I think because MAGA people are always short on facts. The Southern states have got the worst public education k-12. These students are going to their state colleges. The students from the Northeast who end up going to the sunny campuses of Alabama, Mississippi, etc, aren’t the top students from their schools. The Northeast students feel at home with their peers academic wise. The brightest students from the South go to schools outside of the South. It all works out. |
UAB isn’t Alabama. You people are so dumb lol you don’t even know your SEC schools and you keep citing stats for the worst ones. Too afraid to talk about UF and UGA huh? |
SEC is for liberals too. Real liberals that are changing the world, not hypocrite liberals like you. |
UVA is equal to, or above, all of these. |
UVA would be lucky to get a SEC invitation. |
Run UGA against various schools…75% select Penn, 76% select Princeton, 78% select Brown. Those were the only Ivy comparisons where they had enough data for UGA. For UF, 67% pick Penn. Thats the only Ivy comparison with enough data. Did you honestly think it would be different? |
Not true in Georgia. The Atlanta Metro area has many brilliant students and great high schools (private, Catholic, & some publics) and quite often the top students matriculated at Georgia Tech & the University of Georgia Honors College. Tech & UGa Honors are both outstanding academically. Vanderbilt & Duke are premier Southern universities, but U Georgia & Georgia Tech offer free tuition for most. The University of Florida is bursting at the seams with bright, hard-working Floridians who attend for free. U South Carolina has a thriving Honors College as does the University of Alabama. Ole Miss has a popular Honors College. Ole Miss is arguably the last Southern University for experiencing the positive aspects of the Old South.Beautiful campus located in one of the best college towns in the country. If you like to play tennis or golf, then Southern universities offer the best weather. Lots of outdoor activities and access to gorgeous beaches within a reasonable distance. Southern University campuses are alive with activity throughout the school year. Lots of happy, healthy students. Lots of Northerners--especially at U Alabama & at the University of South Carolina. |
| It is settled. Ivies are so easier to get into than the SEC. |
|
Something like 88% of top Atlanta private school kids attend college OOS, many at private NE schools.
It’s not because they aren’t accepted at UGA or Tech…it’s because they have $$$s and free tuition just isn’t a factor in their decision. It’s not like their private HS was cheap. |
