How do you know who is posting on an anonymous forum? |
They don't, there is more than one Einstein parent posting here and many, many concerned parents in the Einstein community. |
It’s more than one. They all have different competing priorities. A few are super angry and attack strangers online with insults. Others are reasonable. |
I think you are confused. There is someone determined to dismiss Einstein parents' concerns who is repeatedly hurling insults to distract from MCPS's disgusting and inequitable regional program proposal. |
| Every single Einstein cluster parent I have spoken to in our neighborhood is livid about this plan. We might have different ideas to make it better but overall we pretty much agree it is going to be a total sh$t sh0w that will hurt our kids. We know this because many of my neighbors' kids already got to be the guinea pigs for an elementary school program that MCPS didn't properly plan or support. Last year MCPS put out a report about how Black, Brown and disabled kids in the program experienced lower math and literacy rates because of this. These exact same kids will be the guinea pigs for the new regional program model. |
| Back to the topic, though. After watching this past BOE meeting, it’s clear this regional plan is going to be pushed through despite community concerns and opposition. I can’t see a scenario where the BOE changes course based on the way they were speaking about it. |
bc MVC Einstein mom is a one of the most notorious posters in the MCPS forum on DCUM. Her points and style are well-known and exhausting. |
I agree, and I wish I could understand why. And it's obviously a bigger issue than just this, we saw how ineffective the BOE was after the Beidleman fiasco. I know, BOE members aren't paid enough but this goes beyond them not having enough time/staff to question the Superintendent. Most of them act like they have been hypnotized or some sh$t. |
Where was MVC mentioned in this thread, if at all, and how many pages did you have to go back to find it? |
This will hurt all kids as no one is getting their needs met. The kids struggle are not getting the right support starting in elementary school and the high achievers cannot thrive as they don’t have the classes they need. Our kids have gone through tons of curriculum changes with no stability. In elementary school, they were not given a good foundation and that’s partly why we see kids struggling. They aren’t bad kids, they aren’t dumb kids, they were not given what they needed. And, now instead of improving things, our kids will get even less without access to the dcc and the schools working together. Many of us cannot provide transportation multiple times a day till our kids start driving and then provide a car, maintenance and insurance. Instead of this mess, use the money to give kids a good foundation in elementary and any child not at grade level extra support in reading, writing, spelling and math. That’s the key to improvement. Mcps has the money. It’s time to put it where it’s important…the students. We want our kids to have the same opportunities that other kids have and we want all the kids in other schools, similar to ours, lacking the courses, clubs and extras to have them too. That is equity. And, we want the kids struggling to be provided with the right support starting to get them back on track so they can be successful not only in school but after graduation. |
ma'am, search "Einstein" and she'll show up. If you aren't in fact her. |
MVC is just one issue. If some schools have it, why shouldn’t all. If it’s not important, remove it from all schools and don’t put kids on a math track that has it as a graduation requirement. If ap science classes are not important, remove them from all schools. If engineering, computer science, the arts, and humanities are not important, remove those from all schools. |
So MVC hasn't been mentioned in this thread but you bring it up here why? Who are you and what is your damage? |
+1000 MCPS has plenty of money but doesn't spend it on teaching kids to read, write or understand math. That's why a majority of MCPS students graduate not proficient in math. And a full 40% are not proficient in ELA. How is this not a five alarm fire? Why is so much staff time and energy being spent on anything other than addressing this emergency? |
There are, some of the admin don’t support ap classes and are very vocal about it. |
