FCPS investigating alleged instances of staff arranging abortions for students

But how did a 17 year old get an abortion, when the law is that you have to be 18 or have a parent/guardian notified? Does the clinic not confirm age? Did this social worker lie and say she was the parent/guardian of the child?

Anyone?

Better have the investigation team to stop what they are doing to give you an update.

Chill TF out.

You are both right, Youngkin got elected because he used the actions of a left wing school board as a wedge issue. That is certainly what is occurring again. Will the Democrats adjust their game plan? Seems like they they will not.

Because he misrepresented what happened and idiots believed the crook.

That's debatable, but in any case what looked to be an easy victory is now in question.

Because Republicans are pushing propaganda again?

Well, you better tell your School Board to conform to Title IX.

I've been following her journalism for years, and she is highly credible. I appreciate her willingness to expose the truth.

I am pro-choice, but am horrified by this story. I am glad the teacher was persistent. It shows cultural/political/ideological supremacy thinking-the social worker assumed she was superior to the child's guardian when it came to dealing with the situation at hand. It's elitist and disrespectful to the family.

You just lost all credibility yourself.

She’s a MAGA shill who uses our schools to push her political agenda.

DP. And you're likely a School Board shill who'll defend misdeed after misdeed within FCPS because it gets you named to random, meaningless advisory committees.

LOL. What a stupid comment. Are you five?

I’m not paid by FCPS and I’m not on any committees.

I simply hate POS lying MAGAs who are relentlessly hurting our schools and our kids.

Your last paragraph gives away what a tool you are. Give yourself a cookie and then go away and let the adults investigate.

Oh please not that poster but I’m chiming in.

Youngkin got elected because of MAGA lies .

This is that all over again.

MAGA can not even do math and they think they should be in control of public schools??? Their boy criminal in office is stealing the country blind and they are ok with it for what owning the libs?? It takes five minutes to prove the lies. But they are lazy always have been. The dollar is failing, unemployment is rising and Dons personal worth is growing while you lose all rights especially your daughters!

Drag queens another maga fear. What morons , every day in the us country a church leader , youth pastor or GOP yes just this week Robert Mays of SC arrested child sexual abuse child porn is a favorite of the GOP. Not one instance of Drag Queens.

Now let’s talk about sex ed maga no sex ed in schools to prevent pregnancy. Yep feeding children and vaccinations are not ok by maga standards.

You are not pro life you are pro death.

This case is a nothing burger.
MYOB this is a private matter not MAGA if you don’t like public school put your kid in a religious private . If you want your kid not having an abortion keep them out of church and away from white Christian men.

There is a reason the US is going to become a hell hole it’s all MAGA ‘s fault cult of stupidity.

What are you going on about? If an FCPS employee facilitated a minor's abortion in violation of state law, that's a problem. And if FCPS lied about when it became aware of such an incident, that's a problem as well. Anyone versed in criminal law knows that the cover-up often leads to worse penalties than the original crime.

BS that is not what happened.

There is no criminal law involved here.

No abortion facilities are doing abortions illegally in the state of VA

This is MAGA crap just like Loudoun County lies upon lies utter BS

There’s a criminal investigation and now underway and don’t be surprised if it leads to indictments.

Is DA a Lib?

Are you a MAGA

Can you have just a single conversation without bringing politics into it? No? Not one? That’s what I thought.

OMG, please. Take a look at the Political forum if you want actual examples of propaganda - of the LWNJ variety.

ABORTION IS MAJOR SURGERY.

No, it is not. In many cases it is not even surgery at all; it is medicine. For *surgical* first trimester abortions, it is a minor procedure. It does not typically involve anesthesia beyond twilight sedation. A colonoscopy is more involved, requiring general anesthesia typically. A root canal takes 10 times as long. I've known women to go back to work that afternoon; not comfortably or ideally, as there is some bleeding/discharge afterward typically, but it's doable. It's not major surgery by any stretch.

That said, I wouldn't want my child to have one without me knowing...but if my stepchild who is all grown now did not feel like she could come to me or her mom or dad in HS when she got pregnant, I would be very grateful for the kindness and care of a trusted, safe adult who could help her through it. I would be grateful she was not totally alone and that there was a dedicated enough school staff member who'd go out of her way to help.

The girl was 5 months pregnant. I’ve had a d&e at 5 months. It is major surgery and required general anesthesia and follow up appointments. You just don’t know what you’re talking about.

The report said that the girl who was 5 months pregnant bolted from 5he clinic and is now a mother, agree that it would not be simple d&c.

Some parents dont blindly trust school staff in matters of teen pregnancy.

What happens in situations when the parent or guardian could be potentially abusive towards the child? Or a history of abuse?

That kid could be entering FCPS this year. It would be good to have him/her in the courtroom during sentencing.
