Maybe so. But I’m skeptical that Trump’s message of austerity will actually be all that attractive as people experience it. We’ve had federal dollars and free trade pumping through MAGA heartland for about 60 years now. MAGA will miss it as the effect of Trump’s policies spread. We’ll see. |
I was checking Fox News and Reddit/conservative. There is NOTHING about tariffs. The issue is on full black out. No mention of the economy, tariffs, stock market, CEO concerns, predictions of recession, consumer surveys, etc. Full black out.
Really sad to see how these kitchen table issues are getting manipulated. |
The Canadian government paid for the following billboards about the US tariff war with Canada for the red states, which Trump initiated.

Honestly those billboards are going to be counterproductive. They will be taken as foreign propaganda and used to justify further punishment of Canada. |
That’s not true. Google. Here’s one with a poll reflecting that 53% think the 25% tariffs will hurt. Navarro says there will be “short term pain which Trump also says”. It’s buried at the end of the fantasy but it’s there. And the poll would indicate even Fox viewers know that people are not psyched. https://www.foxnews.com/video/6370651874112 |
Literally no one except Trump himself thinks Canada needs to be punished! Punished for WHAT? Being our best friend in the world? Sending firefighters to help us with the California wildfires? What in the WORLD are they doing that justifies what Trump is doing right now?! Can you answer that question because I can't! |
They actually did mention the economy for the first time since January 20 today. There was a link to a Fox Business piece on how tariffs could hurt the economy, according to economists. The piece still concluded that it’s necessary. |
They’re on DC bus stops — at least on Connecticut Ave. Not far from the “We buy TESLA$! 800-NAZI-party” flyers. |
Oh I agree with you. Canada is blameless. But to MAGA every foreign country is an adversary. |
In 2017 when Trump took office, he pulled the US out of the TPP.
Fast forward and now, per Reuters... CHINESE STATE MEDIA: CHINA, JAPAN, SOUTH KOREA REACH A CONSENSUS THAT THREE SIDES WILL JOINTLY RESPOND TO THE U.S. TARIFFS |
U.S. taxpayers are also still paying soy farmers for the market loss Trump caused in his first term. Billions a year. |
