Egypt started that war by closing the Straits of Tiran. LBJ explained it: If a single act of folly was more responsible for this explosion than any other, it was the arbitrary and dangerous announced decision that the Straits of Tiran would be closed. The right of innocent, maritime passage must be preserved for all nations. |
Israel’s occupation of the Philadelphia corridor make the Israel Egypt peace treaty void. |
Most scholars consider the 67 war one of self-defense on Israel’s part, but think what you want. We all know it’s just because you hate Israel. |
Israel is on record it was a war of choice. CIA is on record there was no threat to resist. |
It’s considered a preemptive war of self-defense. |
Akin to every lazy excuse put forth by domestic abusers, so. |
This article from the BBC is from July, but analyzes the Israel attacks in Lebanon and Hezbollah attacks since October. Data gathered by the US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (Acled) and analysed by the BBC suggest both sides together carried out a combined 7,491 cross-border attacks between 8 October 2023 and 5 July 2024. These figures indicated that Israel has carried out around five times as many as Hezbollah. The UN says the attacks have forced more than 90,000 people in Lebanon from their homes, with around 100 civilians and 366 Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli strikes. In Israel, officials say 60,000 civilians have had to abandon their homes and 33 people have been killed, including 10 civilians, because of attacks by Hezbollah. Israel has engaged in many more attacks and caused many more civilian deaths than Hezbollah. In regards to how to make it stop, Hezbollah has said they will stop when there is a ceasefire in Gaza. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cv2gj544x65o |
Huh?! This is the consensus among scholars. So they’re domestic abusers?! |
Hezbollah doesn’t give a crap about Gaza. It’s an excuse. |
Hezbollah didn't start the rockets until after Israel started bombing Gaza. Hezbollah did not fire rockets during the 1 week ceasefire in November. The US itself has said the best way to diffuse the Israel and Lebanon situation is a ceasefire in Gaza. |
Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel well predate this war. You all think history began on Oct 7. |

Israel has been trying to thwart Iran-backed efforts for weeks/months…like destroying these tunnels in Syria where they produce precision missiles for terrorists like Hezbollah. The terrorists were ramping up. They’ve been shooting thousands of missiles at Israel in recent months. |
ICYMI: Hezbollah fired missiles at Israel on Oct. 7.
Many people don’t remember that fact, but there’s an article on the BBC homepage about a woman who was evacuated from her home in Israel when her community was bombed by Hezbollah on 10/7. #terroristsattack, theyarentthevictims #iranisthepuppetmaster |
That is a really ironic statement. |
No, Hezbollah did not fire missiles at Israel on Oct. 7. They fired rockets in Shebaa Farms, which is occupied Lebanese territory, on October 8. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-strikes-lebanon-after-hezbollah-hits-shebaa-farms-2023-10-08/ |
