What is getting lost is that hezbalollah have been firing literally thousands of rockets NON STOP into Israel for a year. Over 150,000 people were moved out of the north. This is not an agree first move. This is a response move to try to make it stop. The coverage of this is insane.
This article from the BBC is from July, but analyzes the Israel attacks in Lebanon and Hezbollah attacks since October. Data gathered by the US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (Acled) and analysed by the BBC suggest both sides together carried out a combined 7,491 cross-border attacks between 8 October 2023 and 5 July 2024. These figures indicated that Israel has carried out around five times as many as Hezbollah. The UN says the attacks have forced more than 90,000 people in Lebanon from their homes, with around 100 civilians and 366 Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli strikes. In Israel, officials say 60,000 civilians have had to abandon their homes and 33 people have been killed, including 10 civilians, because of attacks by Hezbollah. Israel has engaged in many more attacks and caused many more civilian deaths than Hezbollah. In regards to how to make it stop, Hezbollah has said they will stop when there is a ceasefire in Gaza. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cv2gj544x65o
Hezbollah doesn’t give a crap about Gaza. It’s an excuse.
Hezbollah didn't start the rockets until after Israel started bombing Gaza. Hezbollah did not fire rockets during the 1 week ceasefire in November. The US itself has said the best way to diffuse the Israel and Lebanon situation is a ceasefire in Gaza.
Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel well predate this war. You all think history began on Oct 7.
