Pay no attention to the names, they are "just rumors" and rumors never come true

Slow done wise one. More to come on the GA News

Bombarding this message board with unfounded suggestions of a YWNT pipeline outside of what already exists, comparisons with mens European leagues, downplaying ECNL status in youth soccer, etc. will not change that fact.

Some of us have been around DMV soccer long enough to see this smoke and mirrors for what it is.

Whichever league is "better" is only an argument because of parent egos.

Nah. It's usually the club staff pushing the narrative of which is better. And of course the better league is defined as the one that their club is in.

Some of us are old enough to remember a few years ago when ECNL was pushed as the best thing around by a certain TD on here. Now that same person is pushing GA. It's pretty entertaining.

There was only a league argument when Girls DA started. And, frankly, at the time it was pretty even. It was a matter of rules preferences and "standards" implementation, but the quality between the two was even.

GA had some quality as legacy DA clubs were the core but they added weaker clubs and the expansion race to the bottom began.

GA added enough poor quality clubs that the top clubs are bored with so many lopsided wins. The regualr season for clubs like Nationals and TopHat are a joke.

That's the real decision for girls. Choose ECRL or GA?

It’s South Shore Select. SURF is a different club. And we are staying put. Word on the street up here is that NEFC isn’t going anywhere either.

Lonestar seems to be one that’s been brought up a lot. Their 2011 coach left to Sting Austin and brought the whole 2011 Lonestar team with him. You can see 2011 Lonestar has forfeited All their games for the 23-24 season.
It would make sense for them to move.

Tophat and NEFC will be really hard to move to ECNL. They have a very bad history with ECNL board. And there are local teams that will not allow them back in.

Cup from Ohio seems very possible.

Maybe in some markets. In the Midwest RL isn’t even considered unless you don’t make a GA/ECNL roster. And even then kids would drive further than take the b team offer

RL and GA are both b teams. So how does one choose? Closer distance?

Maybe where you live that’s the case not in our region. Mid-America GA vs Ohio Valley ECNL is not even close. Losing Nationals hurts that argument for sure - but still not that close here as they won’t be in Ohio Valley for ECNL

ECNL is putting their efforts into recruiting GA clubs
GA is putting their efforts into recruiting clubs that help them round out conferences.

One is in growth mode the other is in defensive mode.
