That’s 9 million people you’ll have to put in prison. The entire population of NYC.


Where are you going to put all of them? What’s going to happen to the economy when you take that many people out of it? What about their families/dependents? Who takes care of them? Do their kids go into foster care? What becomes of their property? Will 9 million foreclosures affect your home value? Extrapolate this into every segment of society that will be affected by a sudden void of millions of people.

How’s this work? I’d really like to hear your answers.

I do not believe for one second that this young man hasn't shown disturbing behavior since a young age. Too many red flags all around, including his appearance and look in his eyes. If he weren't receiving special education or mental health support, he sure should have been!

He violated no law and none of the red flags in IL law. Law enforcement cannot monitor round the clock the 10s of millions of Americans with mental health issues. Ban the riffles.

I think you might want to become better familiarized with Aussie politics before opining. There’s plenty of cynical corporate greed, most notably the mineral extraction industry. Then there’s the Murdoch family and it’s control of print and broadcast news media.

Wasn’t it illegal to have those weapons in Highland Park? How long did he have them and did he when the police came for the violent threats?

Totally disagree. Our country has tipped way over trying to protect the rights of criminals and the mentally ill. They need to be insttutionalized, in group home supervision, and/or under forced medications.

He passed the background check and obtained a FOID from the State Police because he had no criminal record or file with the Department of Human Services relating to mental illness (that is, he was never put on a psych hold, voluntarily admitted to a psychiatric care faculty or adjudicated to be a clear and present danger).
