The motive is the same or all these shootings: guy with some mental issues has access to a bunch of weapons and decides to become famous and go up in flames bringing as many as he can with him. As long as people can buy war weapons as easy as hotdogs (and easier then beer in many places), we will have this. I guess he missed the school year and did not want to wait until September so decided for the parade. Schools, churches, grocery stores, movie theaters, we are all targets.

I grew up in Winnetka. Could be any kind of anger issue. N Shore is just typically very safe. It's kind of like Potomac MD. I can't really think of where it's comparable but the shirt if it's us that you do not think if a parade with shooting there. Mortifyingly scary. We are going to get to the point where it's the Wild West. Too many guns, too much anger. I really cannot believe that Highland Park could really be targeted.

Motives irrelevant at this point and confirmed by the most recent masa shootings. Relevancy is the gunmen are white 18-21 with assault rifles.
White, upper class, predominantly Jewish (?)
Predominately Hispanic children age 9-10
Predominately AA elderly

Guy with "mental issues" is somehow able to obtain and carry a gun legally thanks to the NRA and GOP.

The "freedom" to carry and shoot a weapon seems to supercede the freedom to attend a 4th of July event without fear of being shot and killed.

This is the American the GOP wants.

+1 Good guys with guns aren't going to get to that person in time to prevent him from shooting.

And up until the time he pulls the trigger, 2nd Amendment extremists are going to defend his right to open carry.

I honestly think it will take a mass shooting of politicians to change the law. One was shot. It didn’t matter. Elementary students violently killed twice. Did not matter. In fact, rules more lax. What will it take?
