This is ridiculous.

#1 St. John's is the defending champion and #1 until someone in the area actually beats them. Period.
#2 Agree Bullis is probably next but their depth is questionable, as they got manhandled in Geico.
#3 Prep is what they always are - great on paper, but just missing something. This year will be no different.
#4 GZ is next but there is a serious drop off after #3. Their defense will be good, but not great. Their offense will be virtually invisible this season.
#5 Dematha will surprise a lot of people with this being Mitchell's 2nd year.
#6 - St Alban's will be a lot like GZ. Great D but no O.
#7 - #10 - Toss-up between EHS, SSSAS, PVI and Landon. SSSAS probably has the edge with their coaching and their off-season recruiting especially on offense. EHS is one dimensional even counting their UVA commit. Landon and PVI have athletes but no coaching.

1.St John's refused to play in the DC Championships. Period
2. Bullis lost by 3 to Salisbury and it was a 1 goal game with 1:30 to play
3. Prep will play like a team now that they lost their FO guy
4. GZ will be better than the end of their season but not as good as the start of their season
5. DeMatha was very good last year with a new coach, expect big things from them.
6. St Alban's strong face-off play will provide enough possessions to pull off BIG upset this year
7 - 10 PVI talented but seem to always falter. SSSAS lost too much. EHS does not have enough horses. Landon should be much higher.

Gonzaga returns a lot of players that were injured last year.

STA only beat Landon last year, because a Landon senior defender made a really dumb mistake that cost them the game. Will STA even beat Landon this year?

Not sure how to calculate this statement into the 2023 season.

By the looks of it, Gonzaga graduated a fair amount of seniors last year who started or played big minutes.

Gonzaga will be awful. Lot of bodies, and yes some returning from injury maybe, but no difference makers. They will be awful. Maybe not GC awful, but look for Dematha and the Heights to beat them.

Who has strong 2025 and 2026 classes?

My understanding is St. John’s has a very strong 2026 class and are off to a great start with the 2027 class. They are comparing the 2026 class to the 2022 class.

The WCAC and the school have a rule - plain and simple. Would it have been great to watch but after 20+ games, I think the question was settled. Bullis lost multiple times. So, we'll see what this year brings. Prep lost its best player and nearly lost its coach in the off-season. GZ is just not good. The rest of them will be fighting each other with StA and SSSAS likely to surprise some people. But get over it, St John's was the best and PP was right, they have to lose for any of the rest to be considered contenders.

SJC won the one and only DC Championship in 2021. No need to play it again. No one else can claim that. And the 2022 team is the best HS team to ever play in the history of HS Lacrosse.

SJC 2026 is stacked. PVI 2026 might turn some heads as well. GZ, Bullis and Prep will have 1 or 2 good players, but likely not a full squad of stud players.

Best 25 class is Bullis by light years, but look for a handful of schools to have strong 25 classes at SSSAS, Landon and PVI. Just not the same depth as Bullis with its DCE connections. Agree on 26 being a strong year for St J and Prep, but no freshman is going to be impactful for WCAC and IAC. They are just too deep with sophomores - seniors.

Honest question not asking for a pile on, but what happened to Gonzaga for them to drop so far so fast? Son wants to consider them for next year.

I got to watch the '25 Bullis FOGO at the UA tryouts. He's going to be trouble for everyone for the next 3 years.
