This Is Us final season

Anyway, I wonder if her mother comes back and talks to her. Hopefully she tells her the real real: You are an idiot to give up the future before you for a man.

Oooh I like this idea.

What happened to Zoe? I liked her.

I liked her, too, but she didn't want children so broke up with Kevin because she knew he eventually did. Now that he has twins, she definitely out of contention. I hope we see her again, though, before the series ends. I'd love to see her happily partnered with a good man who shares her goals.

I don't like Zoe, but I thought her objection to kids was more like she didn't want kids of her own/biological children. I wonder if being a stepmom would be something she would consider.

Jack had an incredibly painful childhood and much of how he tried so hard to be a good father came from those experiences. We never did learn what happen to his mom once he helped her move out, so I think it's nice that they tied up her story. It was so very said, especially at the church when he notes that they had both tried hard to carve out new lives for themselves. And then the very end, of course, when he tells Rebecca he doesn't have a mother anymore. That gutted me. I think it was an important episode.

That said, I hope they don't have anything like that with Rebecca's parents. We (the audience) were never invested in those characters and we really don't need to learn about them now.

I agree - I thought it was an excellent episode. I also thought I was going to make it through without crying, but I was wrong about that.

Anonymous wrote:I love this show and if you do too (or at least like it) play along with my family's guessing game:

Who does Kevin end up with (at the time of Rebecca's deathbed scene)?
- Sophie (3 votes)
- Cassidy (1 vote)
- Madison (1 vote)

What's Kate's situation at the time of Rebecca's deathbed scene?
- Dead (1 vote)
- Alive and still overweight (3 votes)
- Alive and lost weight (1 vote)

Does Deja marry Malik?
- No (4 votes)
- Yes (1 vote)

Interesting votes! I don't get the fixation with Sophie as Kevin's one true love. I always felt like his yearning for a relationship like his parents clouded his judgment with her.

I might be the dissenting vote here, but I really like Cassidy for Kevin. They have a great friendship. She has hung around too long for the writers to not make her the wife.

Ugh. Can’t stand Cassidy.

+100 anyone but Cassidy!!!

And she picked up 3 and was also going to get a GED. That was some boneheaded writing, right there.

The rest of the episode was excellent.

I posted earlier and I can’t figure out if the writing was boneheaded or if the writing was highlighting that their plan was boneheaded. I have a current HS senior and I didn’t understand what they were talking about.

She’s a sophomore, right? So maybe one solution could be for her to pile on more classes over the summer and junior year, then let her do this if she actually graduates early? Ugh.

I think they said she is a junior so she would only be graduating a year early. (I THINK)

That's what I remember too.
Beth was on fire in this episode. I just love her. ("We need to retire Worse Case Scenario" and "It's a tactic!!! Tactic!!!")

Beth absolutely steals every scene she’s in. And I thought Deja was impressive in the dinner scene.

Modest inheritance or trust fund is my guess. Her father contributed to her mental illness but financially provided for her.

I was guessing Kevin subsidized her lifestyle so she could SAH. He's got plenty of money.

I'm sure he pays for whatever the kids need, but pretty sure she wasn't working before him.

Best episode this season, it felt more like previous seasons. Tear jerker, humor, all the feels.

Beth was amazing. I was so happy to start to see how Rebecca/Miguel happens.

The Rebecca/Kate connection via piano, love it. So special that little Jack continues her legacy through his music.

I kinda feel like this has turned into "How I met your Mother"

All signs point to Madison as the wife. I think in the remaining episodes that Kevin will realize that he actually is in love with Madison and that is how they end up back together.
Anonymous
Much respect for Cassidy!! I knew they wouldn’t be together and she told him *exactly* what he needed to hear. I like her a lot better now. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if the writers read this forum!

+1
She’s fantastic and carries the show. And is so naturally beautiful.
