Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread

You say we cannot question the backgrounds or the motives of the accusers because that would be “victim shaming” even though their backgrounds raise serious questions about their motives.

You all nauseate me. The comments here are disgusting and reveal the true depth of the liberal mind. The fact that you convict, yes, convict this man based on no evidence shows you have learned nothing from the Duke case or the UVA case. I read oner the thread on the UVA case and some of the same types of comments were found there. Sickening.

You automatically believe the woman because, #MeToo. You don’t acknowledge that women sometimes lie and get things wrong. Oh, but we can’t say that because, “I believe her.”

Last night, it was revealed that two men have come forward with statements that they believe Ford has confused Kavanaugh for them. We’ll see what happens with these claims as the day goes on.

Sounds as if some of the people who post here have major issues based on past experiences and are projecting THEIR experiences and holding Kavanaugh responsible for them. That’s not how things work. You need to get help.

I don’t understand why this is such a big mess. There are women who are accusing a man of wrong doing. Simply investigate the situation and report back.

If only there were a federal agency that did investigations.

Not a big deal for the Montgomery County Police Department to do the investigation, but not one so-called victim wants to file a police report.

Why?

This should not be aired in the press. It is a disservice to all involved. Both political sides have backed the story of person(s) they support. It will just further divide the Nation. If everyone had been smart and taken a realistic view rather than a political view, this would be handed over to the FBI and investigated.

There is. One that investigates federal crimes like kidnapping or terrorism.
These allegations don’t fit that.
Hey - maybe if you can find someone to bring an allegation of kidnapping against Kavanaugh you can get that FBI investigation.

He won't get re-appointed if he tries to go back the Court of Appeals (15 year term, I believe). He may lose his Court of Appeals appointment altogether if the Judicial Conduct Committee investigates this boat load of complaints against him.

Sparky, this forum is lousy with seasoned lawyers--don't try to one up us--you just sound so silly. And he absolutely can be disbarred (crime of moral turpitude) you don't have to be convicted of the crime (see, Nixon).

You actually don’t sound like a lawyer. All lawyers would know that Kavanaugh holds a lifetime appointment barring impeachment. And what “crime of moral turpitude” could he be disbarred for? Do you even know what that means?

Those men are crazy. Literally.

Unless they went to Prep and she knows them, there's no reason to believe them. I'm sure they are simply wackos. Probably the wrong age and not from an area private school.

WHOOSH

You're not very good at detecting sarcasm, are you? It doesn't have to be kidnapping. The FBI investigation is within the scope of the background investigation of the nominee. New allegations have been brought to light--the investigation should be reopened.

What these women are accusing him of are crimes. The FBI does not investigate sexual assault. They have done 6 background investigations. Nothing came up.

I read this elsewhere but it fits here--

"Avenatti is the lawyer that Trump wishes he had.
His trolling skills are off the charts. He shut down Dershowitz, and almost made Tucker Carlson cry on his own show."

LOL, so true.
