| Can’t NATO intervene already and finish this f@ckery? |
These articles don’t say anything about Russia shooting down storm shadow missiles. |
The answer is probably no at this point. A year ago, probably. |
Russia "adapts" but only after first incurring huge losses. And all the while, the Ukrainian side continues to adapt and incur yet more losses on Russia. |
Disagree. If there's enough Putin-Lukashenka-Wagner stupidity to have Belarus start a war with Poland then yes, NATO will become more engaged. |
It is exposing you as a hypocrite. |
NP. Not really. It’s exposing you as a propagandist, and a second-rate one at that. |
NATO is too afraid of losing soldiers to intervene directly. A bunch of cowards. |
They say it without saying it, if you know how to read these things: "But since Ukraine began using the missiles in mid-May, "we've not seen tremendous impact on the Russian force," Kofman said, "and part the reason for that is the adaptations in the Russian military that were caused by the introduction of HIMARS last June." The clunky sentence mixing events from two different weapon systems and two different years is the give away. What adaptations did Russia make to deal with HIMARS last June, that was not of use mid-May, but is now? The most likely answer is a reference to the firmware upgrades made/being made to Russian air defense systems. They now have the "profile" of a Storm Shadow. There are some good deep dives out there going into the details if you are truly interested. |
They are just moving stuff out of range of the missiles. That is by itself helpful to the Ukrainians because it lengthens supply lines and makes logistics more difficult for the Russians. |
If you’re just going to troll, at least make an attempt at appearing credible. |
Can NATO escalate things? Sure! Can they just throw their weight around and end the conflict (presumably with 1991 borders) in relatively short order? No, absolutely not. Russia is just too dug in, with too much time to ramp up their defense industry. NATO can't just use air power and an expeditionary force to win. A year ago, they might have been able to. Now they would have to commit far too much to not telegraph the buildup months in advance. |
You should travel more. Every time a non-American, non-European person hears American or European pontification about the evils of invading other countries or human rights, they roll their eyes. Very, very deeply. Almost disappearing into the skull. |
LOL you make it sound like Ukraine incurs no losses in the meantime. That's the missing element in the Ukrainian war discourse. The Ukrainian losses and casualty rate. |
Kinda like how the Patriots shot down the far faster hypersonic missiles? |
