Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 2

Anonymous

This guy is a SERIAL RAPIST. I'm sure he's probably done other things we aren't aware of, too. I wouldn't put murder past him, especially if any of his victims ever resisted.

Jeff is not removing this? Wow. It has nothing to do with Kavanaugh at all.

I agree. I reported it. But, still here.

I reported it too. Amazing.
Please. It’s been all of 15 min. Believe it or. It, Jeff is not glued to the site 24/7. He might actually have had to take a leak or is eating breakfast or dropping his kids off at school.

And yet, here it is. Twelve hours later. So interesting.

Do you all realize how dumb you all look? Please, try to keep up. If you're going to comment on something like this you need to read all the posts above yours. At the very least read the posts just a few above yours.

So basically it comes to this - republicans believe Dr. Ford but still think it is ok to confirm him because his crime wasn’t heinous enough to preclude a seat on the Supreme Court.

Yes it seems that way.

This means they have the votes to confirm.

Game over.

They don't have the votes. But the sooner they vote on him, the sooner they can move on to the next one. Waiting won't improve things for Kavanaugh.

How do you know they don’t have the votes?

I'd like to know the answer to that question too. I don't like the man, and I detest Trump, but I'd vote for him if nothing changes between now and tomorrow. I don't see how they won't make it.

The right can pick someone else with the same political stance as this guy, why are they so committed to him in particular when he's shown himself not to befit a lifetime appointment to the highest court? Like ANY OTHER RIGHT WING JUDGE, PICK ONE. This guy has demonstrated himself to be unfit.

I claim no insider knowledge, but by their frenzy for this turd, I think they think that Mueller is imminent and that they’re going to get wiped out at the midterms. I guess there is also that Trump is a toddler and insists on having his way.

Oh and I guess Brett’s gambling debt was paid off, so someone owns him and they want their money’s worth.

"Where Christine Blasey Ford was calm and dignified, Brett Kavanaugh was volatile and belligerent; where she was eager to respond fully to every questioner, and kept worrying whether she was being “helpful” enough, he was openly contemptuous of several senators; most important, where she was credible and unshakable at every point in her testimony, he was at some points evasive, and some of his answers strained credulity."

- NYT Editorial. Biased source you might say, but in this instance, I completely agree with them.

One thousand percent.

He came in basically saying, "I deserve this appointment and waa waa you're trying to take it away from me." Petulant and entitled.

My sense, too. He really has an arrogant, entitled air about him. “I got into YLS!”

He has been wrongly accused of horrible acts. He is not going to be calm and dignified. He’s mad as hell at this crap. And, yes, I would be very contemptuous of the Senators who managed to turn this hearing into a fiasco. I do not blame him one little bit.
And, the NY Times? Full of crap.

I’m sorry but I don’t think he is innocent. I find his assertion comical.

So you’re willing to ruin a man’s career and reputation over an allegation? An allegation that is uncorroborated and mostly refuted?

And, this could have all been avoided had proper procedure been followed.

Like the Merrick Garland procedure? You all are morally bankrupt. Lindsay Graham's indignant tirade was ludicrous given that he and his colleagues REFUSED to even give
Obama's nominee a hearing. Shameful and ridiculous.

The Liberal Smear Campaign is a FAT failure.

The most surprising thing was Kavanaugh’s poor comportment. He doesn’t seem to have the temperament to handle contentious issues like the court may face. He was also by far the most political, least respectful nominee ever. There are no good outcomes going forward. Perhaps the best is if he goes down in committee. .

How quickly we forget Harriet Miers.

I believe they do have the votes. Manchin is voting yes so they have a dem.

But this is not over. It’s not 1991 anymore.

If he is confirmed I hope that his entire tenure is beset with protesters telling him what a douche he is. Wherever he goes.

God in heaven! What part of his tantrum suggested fitness for the bench to you?

Crickets, of course. They have the votes.

They do. They wouldn’t be voting otherwise.

Dcum will be extra delicious tomorrow. Get your rest, long day of crying and ranting and foaming ahead. lol

They have the votes to get him out of committee. There is no guarantee they have the votes to get him through the Senate. Murkowski is a No due to his views on native tribes. None of the Dem Senators are voting Yes, they have enough political cover to justify No votes.

It really comes down to Collins. Or maybe even Flake. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out. Flake has no loyalties right now.
