I don't know the timeline, was that email before or after the Nathan/Abel texts were made public? I can see how he'd say that if he was working with the information that was available at the time (just the spate of bad publicity, without knowledge of the background stuff, one would assume the bad publicity was solely caused by Blake's behavior). It may even tend to help Blake's case if he said he'd never seen anything like that. These are the things that will need to be teased out during trial. Should be fun. |
Yes that email was from August 2024, when the publicity was bad but before anyone knew Baldoni et al were literally chatting about how to make Blake and Ryan look bad in the press and online to discredit Blake. |
| Blake's an idiot liar who brought the backlash on herself. She asked for it. |
"She asked for it." -- Baldoni supporter |
But what the Sony CEO was referencing was not a result of a smear campaign. Is Blake lively saying that the launch of her hairline was Baldoni’s idea and part of a smear campaign? That was what he called epic level stupid. Bots didn’t make the CEO of Sony send an email that said Blake will never work again because of her own actions. There was also exchange from Sony saying that she created this drama and it backfired. That’s not part of the smear campaign - that was when fans were pushing back about why Justin was in the basement and left off the poster, etc.. People tend to forget that this was not a normal movie. There were millions of fans looking forward to the book adaption of this movie who had been following Justin Baldoni since they found out he bought the rights back in 2019. He amassed a fan base because Colleen Hoover and him were palling around taking pictures together, and Colleen was gushing about how she was so excited for him to make the film - so fans were invested in him and were really confused when all of a sudden the cast turned against him and he wasn’t allowed at the premie. This caused a lot of backlash that Blake got. |

"It’s actually sad because it just shows you how people who really want to hate on women."
-- Melissa Nathan |

"We've also started to see a shift on social, due largely to Jed and his team's efforts to shift the narrative towards shining a spotlight on Blake and Ryan."
-- Jen Abel |

Maybe people don’t remember what caused Blakes backlash but these were the main issues that she was confronting in August 2024:
Criticism that she launched her hair product line in conjunction with this movie Criticism that she had pop up events advertising her and Ryan’s alcohol lines and naming a drink after the abuser in the film An interview where she was asked by a reporter rather earned what she would do if women wanted to come up to her and share their story of domestic violence. (A dumb question, yes.) But it was a softball question, and she completely fumbled it -with her legs curled up under her casually, she made a really sarcastic remark about how essentially she didn’t want fans coming up to her. “What should I share my location with them? Drop a pin?” It got a lot of back lashing was seen as tone deaf and insensitive. Further, you could tell it was bugging Blake as a few months later when she was texting Taylor, she was still talking about it. None of those instances is lively alleging was part of the “untraceable” smear campaign. The one interview they were hoping to pin on the smear campaign was the little baby bump interview which went viral and caused extreme backlash, but that is not even going to be part of the trial. The journalist who posted that video was subpoenaed and in her deposition said she’s never been contacted by Baldoni’s team. There is no tracing Baldoni’s team back to her, so that was a dead end. However, of note, one of the Sony executives criticizing her said she should have apologized to the reporter. So even that misstep was on Blake. It went viral as did Anne Hathaway‘s interview, and Hathaway immediately apologized, and that is why we are not still talking about that interview two years later. |
Justin's father Sam describes himself as being the founder of a multi billion dollar busines - he founded Baldoni entertainment and according to him he was the founder of product placement in Hollywood and in China and this made him very rich. I have no idea if this is true. Sam is now an executive consultant for Wayfarer. According to reddit he is MAGA based on who he follows on social media. |
Blake and Ryan clearly did not need a smear campaign to make them look bad in the press. Is the smear campaign still happening? Because they are getting horrible press and most of their former friends won’t be seen with them. |
Thanks for quoting me accurately! |
Nah, just Blake, and she deserves it. 🤭 |
Don’t bother explaining. BL supporters are dinos who don’t understand how internet backlash works, therefore every negative comment she gets must be the result of a “smear.” |
I don’t know why there was ever a rumor that Justin Baldoni didn’t come from money. It seems like they just bought a new property and the money came from a trust so I imagine Justin or Emily or both have family money. This sounds like another miscalculation Ryan and Blake made? It certainly seems like from the CRD complaint they did not expect this to move into an actual lawsuit and yet here we are two years later and the lawyer bills keep on coming. I know Justin has a billionaire backer, but maybe he didn’t even need one. |
| Wow, is the Blaje bit crashing today! And it’s all nonsensical. |
