SATC New Season - And Just Like That...

It really feels like they wrapped things up for good.

The show was renewed. But maybe they weren’t certain about that when filming the finale. It is hard to see where they can go in season 3. Everyone can’t be happily coupled/pining for out-of-town loves and professionally killing it.

Also what stupid writing—Wyatt will be off to college in three years.

Anyone else disgusted by the incessant wealth and privilege displayed in this show? It was so much more fun when they were scrappy and striving.

How are they going to go on from here? They tidied everyone up.

Plus any minute now these women are going to really age. They can't keep them in "early 40s to mid 50's" land forever.

Well they are in their forties and mid-fifties, so there is *some* time before they all become crones.

On a related note, I am impressed by their badassery in showing a lot of skin during sex scenes. Even SJP took her bra off, a first. I couldn't do it, but good for them!

We already had two main characters—Carrie and Samantha—talk about their abortion experiences. We don’t need a third main character to go through that. I think a lot more women of LTW’s age related to getting unexpectedly pregnant at an advanced maternal age, feeling conflicted but deciding to keep it, then losing it. In fact, there have been numerous threads about that on DCUM.

It is probably the most realist outcome, at her age.

99% of unwanted pregnancies on TV shows magically end in miscarriage rather than abortion. It's such a cowardly and tired storyline.

This is really unfair given that SATC gave two out of its four main characters abortion histories. Also, “Women older than age 35 have a higher risk of miscarriage than do younger women. At age 35, you have about a 20 percent risk. At age 40, the risk is about 40 percent. And at age 45, it's about 80 percent.” Giving her a full-term pregnancy at her age is the least plausible storyline. The actress who play LTW is 52. Not sure how old her character is supposed to be.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pregnancy-loss-miscarriage/symptoms-causes/syc-20354298#:~:text=Women%20older%20than%20age%2035,45%2C%20it's%20about%2080%20percent.

Is she really 52? Wow - I thought she was a decade younger.

I really liked this week's episode. Che, of course, is the effin worst - if you're going to be that un-self aware about what a d**k you are, at LEAST be funny.

Loved Nya's response to the pregnancy.

I really felt for Aiden and Carrie. I think it's clear they are going to have to split - I mena, it was clear from the beginning, but now we see why; it's because Aiden is a good person and Carrie is also a good person, so neither of them is going to push for him to not be there for his son. It's kind of heartbreaking. It's actually heartbreaking! But maybe - I didn't come up with this - Miranda will move in with Carrie and they can each have at least one bathroom to themselves.

I don't know - am I crazy or has this show gotten good? I liked Charlotte's storyline this week, too!

Since when? She has always been insanely self absorbed and shallow.

Carrie not walking out with Miranda during Che's horrific set was the last straw for me. she is NOT a good friend.

Agree, she witnessed her best friend's embarrassment. Che did not have a comedy set it was a roast of Miranda and it was cruel. Carrie should have left

No, she was with Aidan.. Remember he's there! And of course the writers wanted a face-to-face confrontation with Che, outside, which couldn't have been as powerful if Carrie was standing there trying to look and act cute.

Nothing that a quick “come on let’s get outta here” couldn’t have fixed. I totally agree they should have all left. Still would have time for the confrontation. In what world does a friend let their bestie get shat upon by someone they’ve know for a minute? Carrie is an awful character. She had a softness and vulnerability in the first series and that has all gone away. It’s not relatable anymore.

Yes, they all walk out. Che comes out and because Carrie and Che are friends, her and Aiden walk away. If it was a random ex that Carrie didn't have a relationship with she would have stayed with her and told the person, not now or give her some space. Makes no sense they didn't leave the club. Especially Aiden being Mr nice guy and knowing Miranda so long.

Carrie should not be friends with Che after the way Che treated and spoke about Miranda. I loved how Miranda finally told her off outside the club.
I agree. I would have uninvited her to the last supper. And I (and my man) would have gotten up and left with her. But this is TV so I get it, why it played out the way it did. lol

Aidan is being ridiculous.

They definitely didn’t know it was being renewed when they filmed this. I don’t really see where they can go either.

I wouldn’t be so sure that kid is going to college.

Ok, trade school. Something.

This is silly but as much as I love Carrie’s new place, I’m having a hard time believing she just bought a $20 million home and practically gave away her old apartment. But the season improved dramatically regardless. It’s no longer painful to watch and sometimes fun.

Well the upgrade from a $2mil apt with Big to an enormous $20mil one was nonsensical in the first place.

I get that Aiden is putting his kids first, which is fine. But I feel like they could still be together. I mean couldn't he just visit less or she could visit him? I mean he was going every other week right? So he could go a weekend a month or something?

+1 what a disappointment. Poorly written and forgettable.

Hilarious that SJP and KC didn't even have to actually interact with each other for that terrible scene. Definitely filmed independently and spliced together. I suppose it was better than the terrible hodge-podge they did on the Good Wife with the two actresses who didn't get along, but still. It would have been better without that absurd charade.

The background shots in the car Samantha was in were hilariously bad.

I guess he doesn’t think the kid will go away to college either. Try whole thing seemed very contrived.

It sucks that they had to give us such a blah ending because they didn’t know what would happen. I hope this isn’t how every season has to go.

I don't know how the writers will make season 3 interesting, but I know I want more fashion. Miranda's and Seema's looks were so great this ep.
