We already had two main characters—Carrie and Samantha—talk about their abortion experiences. We don’t need a third main character to go through that. I think a lot more women of LTW’s age related to getting unexpectedly pregnant at an advanced maternal age, feeling conflicted but deciding to keep it, then losing it. In fact, there have been numerous threads about that on DCUM.

It is probably the most realist outcome, at her age.

99% of unwanted pregnancies on TV shows magically end in miscarriage rather than abortion. It's such a cowardly and tired storyline.

This is really unfair given that SATC gave two out of its four main characters abortion histories. Also, “Women older than age 35 have a higher risk of miscarriage than do younger women. At age 35, you have about a 20 percent risk. At age 40, the risk is about 40 percent. And at age 45, it's about 80 percent.” Giving her a full-term pregnancy at her age is the least plausible storyline. The actress who play LTW is 52. Not sure how old her character is supposed to be.

Is she really 52? Wow - I thought she was a decade younger.

I really liked this week's episode. Che, of course, is the effin worst - if you're going to be that un-self aware about what a d**k you are, at LEAST be funny.

Loved Nya's response to the pregnancy.

I really felt for Aiden and Carrie. I think it's clear they are going to have to split - I mena, it was clear from the beginning, but now we see why; it's because Aiden is a good person and Carrie is also a good person, so neither of them is going to push for him to not be there for his son. It's kind of heartbreaking. It's actually heartbreaking! But maybe - I didn't come up with this - Miranda will move in with Carrie and they can each have at least one bathroom to themselves.

I don't know - am I crazy or has this show gotten good? I liked Charlotte's storyline this week, too!

Since when? She has always been insanely self absorbed and shallow.

Carrie not walking out with Miranda during Che's horrific set was the last straw for me. she is NOT a good friend.

Agree, she witnessed her best friend's embarrassment. Che did not have a comedy set it was a roast of Miranda and it was cruel. Carrie should have left

No, she was with Aidan.. Remember he's there! And of course the writers wanted a face-to-face confrontation with Che, outside, which couldn't have been as powerful if Carrie was standing there trying to look and act cute.

Nothing that a quick “come on let’s get outta here” couldn’t have fixed. I totally agree they should have all left. Still would have time for the confrontation. In what world does a friend let their bestie get shat upon by someone they’ve know for a minute? Carrie is an awful character. She had a softness and vulnerability in the first series and that has all gone away. It’s not relatable anymore.

Yes, they all walk out. Che comes out and because Carrie and Che are friends, her and Aiden walk away. If it was a random ex that Carrie didn't have a relationship with she would have stayed with her and told the person, not now or give her some space. Makes no sense they didn't leave the club. Especially Aiden being Mr nice guy and knowing Miranda so long.

Carrie should not be friends with Che after the way Che treated and spoke about Miranda. I loved how Miranda finally told her off outside the club.

Interesting because Carrie has probably written about Miranda’s dating and relationship issues hundreds of times.

I don't think she's as good as the other actresses but I think her criticism has been overblown. I actually think it's a testament to her acting that on the original SATC, people didn't think she was acting- they just thought she was Charlotte. She's not. I don't think it's a role that lends itself to an Emmy or other Award. She's beautiful and looks like a Park Ave princess and we all know how to act prudish. Not meaty like Miranda or Samantha.

I'm also rewatching SATC and Kristin Davis is really good in the first two seasons -- very different, not cutesy, more of an adult.

they are actually all much better in the first two season, more like real people.

+100. The first two seasons were really special because it was Darren Starr, not Michael Patrick King. The press and attention had also not had a chance to get to SJP and Patricia Field’s heads quite as much. SJP’s self-awareness of Being Iconic Carrie took a lot away from her performance and from the character, in my opinion.

This cannot be said enough. Also SJP became an executive producer at the same time and all the characters suffered afterwards.

But Che crossed the line by being cruel.

There’s no reason why Carrie should stick with Che. A line was crossed, and it’s time to choose sides.

Carrie is a horrible friend for insisting Miranda come to the dinner party if Che is attending. She should have either told Miranda it was fine not to come, or disinvited Che. No way should Miranda have to sit at the same table with someone who publically ridiculed her sexual performance and sexual orientation struggles.

I’ll play the devils advocate. It doesn’t seem like Che’s standup was rooted in reality. More like she took the concept of dating a married woman and riffed off of it.

Also, Miranda probably shouldn’t have just “dropped in” on her ex like that after ghosting her. Che would have told her not to come, or at the very least prepped her for it.

Che’s true crime is not being funny. Same reason I couldn’t watch The marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Why can’t anyone write funny standup for tv?

I don't understand why Che had to use Miranda bringing in her husband and son into the bed as part of her comedy. Che literally brought her husband into bed with Che and Miranda

Totally agree.

^^ Miranda could have called Carrie out for not siding with her. She didn't ask her to not choose Che, she just didn't want to be in the same room. That wasn't good enough. The dinner party had to be all about Carrie.

The characters all become so much more neurotic after the first two seasons! The first two seasons are a pleasure to watch, they are strong and ironic and funny. Then they all become more pathetic (except Samantha)?

The Samantha cameo—total LETDOWN.

Just finished watching the finale.

It really feels like they wrapped things up for good.

The show was renewed. But maybe they weren’t certain about that when filming the finale. It is hard to see where they can go in season 3. Everyone can’t be happily coupled/pining for out-of-town loves and professionally killing it.

Also what stupid writing—Wyatt will be off to college in three years.

Anyone else disgusted by the incessant wealth and privilege displayed in this show? It was so much more fun when they were scrappy and striving.

+1 what a disappointment. Poorly written and forgettable.
