Same!! |
Be vocal!! I talk to a lot of Crossfield parents and most of them want to go to the new school but for some reason are too scared of the PTO to create their own organization and do their own lobbying. Why is that? |
Lack of motivation, organization and not nearly enough interest. |
This sounds like a RIO ringleader patting themselves on the back for being oh so organized. Typical superiority complex. You know those girls in high school who no one liked but they seemingly had a lot of friends because people were afraid to get on their bad side? It's like that. You can say all you want that people should get over that, but human social dynamics are what they are. |
None of this would matter if the School Board members and Reid had brains and a spine. |
Yes, the school board and superintendent should only listen to Crossfield parents who want their kids to attend Western not Fox Mill families or anyone else. |
+1 |
Don't be an idiot. They've bought a new school to relieve overcrowding and reduce commuting distances. Prioritize the considerations that were used to justify the purchase and redistrict as needed. They are so uncertain of their ability to do the obvious things correctly that they just allow themselves to be swayed by the loudest voices. If they are that cowardly, they should just put KAA back on the market and sell it to someone who wants the land for data centers. |
I’m glad you can participate in a discussion without resorting to name calling, you’re a great role model. Name one instance in the boundary review where an es was moved to a new hs due to distance. If you were so concerned about your commute why didn’t you bring this up during the boundary review and advocate to be moved to South Lakes? The school board members are elected officials and should listen to every argument presented to them during their deliberation and then make their decision. That does not make them cowardly simply politicians. You should take your anger and direct it towards speaking up at a meeting. |
Pro Crossfield Western moms always being aggressive… |
DP. Not a Crossfield mom, but have yet to see a good justification for why Crossfield should stay at Oakton. Go read the comments on the petition site. None are objective reasons. |
In the last boundary review? Wolftrap. Do you really think they should or will ignore existing commuting distances and distances to Western when they create boundaries? For the most part they won’t. You’re just hoping they will where Crossfield is concerned. |
Wolftrap is your example…that community advocated to attend Madison over Marshall, because they wanted to be there it had nothing to do with distance. You’re right I hope Crossfield doesn’t get rezoned to Western but not because of why you think. |
The argument that it reduced commuting time and eliminated a split feeder was key to the Wolftrap decision. You argue for a ridiculous approach where every decision is based on who has the most resources to yell the loudest. That’s absurd, and an abdication of board members’ fiduciary duties, whether it’s coming from Crossfield parents pushing to stay at Oakton, Fox Mill parents looking to keep Crossfield out of the discussion so they instead can move to Western from South Lakes, or others. |
Not OP but if you think this is just Crossfield then you missed the whole boundary review. |
