If you were so concerned about your commute why didn’t you bring this up during the boundary review and advocate to be moved to South Lakes? The school board members are elected officials and should listen to every argument presented to them during their deliberation and then make their decision. That does not make them cowardly simply politicians. You should take your anger and direct it towards speaking up at a meeting.

Yes, the school board and superintendent should only listen to Crossfield parents who want their kids to attend Western not Fox Mill families or anyone else.

They are so uncertain of their ability to do the obvious things correctly that they just allow themselves to be swayed by the loudest voices. If they are that cowardly, they should just put KAA back on the market and sell it to someone who wants the land for data centers.

If you were so concerned about your commute why didn’t you bring this up during the boundary review and advocate to be moved to South Lakes? The school board members are elected officials and should listen to every argument presented to them during their deliberation and then make their decision. That does not make them cowardly simply politicians. You should take your anger and direct it towards speaking up at a meeting.

I think it is pretty much a given that Oak Hill Elem will move. Option A is the logical solution. It solves problems.

I hope Oak Hill ES does get zoned to the new school. That would be our neighborhood school, and I'd be thrilled if my younger kids could go to the new school instead of Chantilly.

What’s wrong with Chantilly? We are zoned for Oakton and I wish mine could go to Chantilly instead!

We love Chantilly. Would be happy staying there, but one proposal split neighborhood to go to Oakton. Drive to Oakton is way too far and would split our neighborhood. Can you imagine driving back roads in this weather? Chantilly is overcrowded. Westfield is overcrowded and so is Oakton now.

Yeah this is why we'd rather go to Chantilly. My kid actually wants to go to the new school, but our community has been vocally opposing it so they probably won't get to go unless there is room for transfers or unless they extend the opt in to multiple years.

Be vocal!! I talk to a lot of Crossfield parents and most of them want to go to the new school but for some reason are too scared of the PTO to create their own organization and do their own lobbying. Why is that?

You argue for a ridiculous approach where every decision is based on who has the most resources to yell the loudest. That’s absurd, and an abdication of board members’ fiduciary duties, whether it’s coming from Crossfield parents pushing to stay at Oakton, Fox Mill parents looking to keep Crossfield out of the discussion so they instead can move to Western from South Lakes, or others.
