You never know. The woman who was found on Long Island, which led to finding all the bodies killed by the Long Island Serial Killer, had wandered off from a house into a marsh, was panicking, got disoriented and died of hypothermia. There has been no good answers about this case. Maybe she heard someone, came outside, wandered off and fell. It's certainly a weird one.

And coincidentally, the exact same night she heard someone, came outside, wandered off and fell, a masked man was seen approaching her house and dismantling her camera in the middle of the night. But sure, she wandered off and fell.

She couldn't have wandered far. They would have found the pacemaker by now.

She didn’t wander. These are the possible scenarios:

- An abduction gone wrong to extort Savannah and Nancy died on the scene - no credible ransom because she passed away. This would be someone familiar with the family who in passing knew Nancy’s daughter was a famous news anchor.
- A burglary gone wrong (makes less sense because nothing was taken)
- A targeted but random abduction/murder. The perpetrator had no idea who her daughter was and that the case would blow up like this.
- A targeted and intentional abduction - Nancy is still alive (this seems unlikely given that there hasn’t been any credible ransom note.)
- a targeted and intentional murder. No idea what the motive would be.

Nothing taken makes perfect sense with a burglary gone wrong. Most burglars do not want to kill anyone. Murder is a much higher penalty than burglary. If you accidentally kill someoen in a burglary, your best bet is to take NOTHING. If you steal a laptop or tv or jewelry you are just increasing your risk that you get caught by like 100 fold. Cops don’t put much effort into catching burglars so long as they are reasonable about it (don’t take anything ridiculously expensive, no one hurt). Once someone gets killed there is gojng to be a major focus on tracking the stolen goods. And if they catch you with the stolen goods, you are pretty much handing them a conviction. They were probably hooked that if they took the body, people would assume the old lady just wandered off and they could at least buy tjemselves some time. Tibs is what I think happened.

This is my thought, too. Burglary by a stranger that went wrong and she died before the burglar could grab anything of value, so, like you said, they turn their attention to dumping the body and buying enough time to leave the country.

Except would a burglar arrive with a backpack filled to the brim with a tarp and god knows what else? A light in their mouth? Wearing pairs of gloves and a ski mask? It seems too pre meditated to be a simple burglary.

No mention of a tarp anywhere - where are you seeing a tarp mentioned ?

It is entirely possible that the perpetrator had a tarp in his backpack but this cannot be determined for sure.

It's hilarious that a company as sleazy as 23andme is suddenly pretending it has principles.

Has the sherif; asked if Savannah is communicating /backchanneling with a relative via her phone? I think she knows the culprit. In her videos, she appears to be addressing someone she knows.

Crazy ex, wayward relative, secret admirer, disgruntled client? She practiced law in tucson right?

It’s not principles - it’s a sales tactic. People might be deterred from submitting their dna samples if they knew that the company would use it for these things. Not that a criminal would ever submit their dna to begin with.

Google has found someone search on NG's address on January 11th from Tucson. It must be him.

Nothing will happen. Pretty much every national scandal exposes how incompetent and cowardly the average cop/deputy is.

I know. That's why I said "pretending."

Their core business is (was) actually monetizing research derived from everyone's DNA. The fact that they positioned themselves as "find your history" versus "we are going to enable research and sell the data from your genetic material" is so sleazy.

So, they have no principles in the first place. IMO

Relatives do. That's how they found the BTK killer..

I fear the worst. Sad.

I also would think that this person has driven by her house a few times to canvas. They must be checking into that too from cameras.

23 n Me has nothing to do with random DNA checks. You all are living in ignorance. No, police cannot just send DNA through a private"database"- it does not ever work that way. Your medical records with your blood lab and dr's office has already been hacked numerous times. But no one is finding criminals in Ancestry or 23 n Me or any of the private companies.
They run it through public databases to make a match with some very extended relative and work back from there with public records. The perp doesn't even need to have had any DNA test done. It takes a very short time to narrow down a person from one hit.

Here's what none of you get- you don't have to have ever taken a test at all. If any of your extended relatives has DNA on any site, public or private, you do too. Game is over. Your DNA is already out there, and anyone can locate anyone connected from one hit distant hit. It would take me maybe an hour to figure out who you are. Maybe less.
