Ah the lads are only making a bit of trouble

At last Philip did something worthwhile.

Every year the public is going to mourn Phillip's death on this date. EVERY. YEAR. I just...wow.

#Diana’sRevenge

I mean...really. This is insane.

It really isn’t a big deal. No one is going to mourn his death every year. More like, oh, PP died on this day.

For real. And it’s not like people publicly celebrate Charles and Camillas wedding anniversary.

Charles and Camilla likely celebrate their anniversary.

Now it will be clouded by his father’s death.

You wouldn’t want your anniversary clouded by a death.

#Diana’sRevenge

Good grief. You are mental. Diana had no revenge! He was going to die sooner or later! And Charles and Camila can celebrate in other ways!

Old Phillip was loyal to the end -

Intriguingly, among the family photographs of children and grandchildren he always kept on his office desk at Windsor, was one of Prince Charles and Princess Diana taken on their wedding day.

That is really weird. Camilla and Charles should have married in the first place. They are clearly compatible and a good match. Diana was a full on histrionic personality who led a tragic life.

It makes you wonder if there was some real bit of info that inspired that scene in The Crown where Diana and Philip go hunting together, when she comes to Balmoral for the first time and is "vetted" by the family as a potential wife for Charles.

I thought Philip hated Diana.

He loathed Fergie.

She's too sturdy for that.

+1 Elizabeth will probably be a centenarian like her mother.

I hope the Queen is ok

They're either breaking lockdown rules of 30 mourners or they are kicking out distance relatives from the funeral procession - like the Kents and Gloucesters.

Apparently William is insisting on bringing Carole and Michael Middleton.

The Crown is a work of fiction. There are much better, real references in Philip’s many biographies.

The article is about his real life, not what's depicted in The Crown. None of the stuff in the article is in the TV show.

Actually it is.

I don’t blame him. The Middletons didn’t go on Oprah trashing him and his family.

Is that story real? Diana is reported to have detested the royal blood sports.

Yes it is correct. Diana did a lot to rehabilitate her image to downplay her privileged background

Tears? For someone you didn’t know? Why?

Are you sad for his wife? I don’t understand such strong emotions for a stranger who seemingly had no impact on your life (unlike RBG whose legacy impacts all Americans).

Yes, I am deeply upset over his passing. He meant the world to me. I wanted a spouse like him. He was perfect in every way. Just thinking that he is gone brings me to tears. I loved him so.

There is one scene in an airplane with his sisters, I think, but I don't recall anything else. Was there?

I'm sure if Prince Philip listed the 30 people he'd most like to attend his funeral, Carole and Michael Middleton would be on the list!
