Agree about the DNC. Apparently The NY Times did its own investigation and concluded there was no there there, at least yet. I’d love to know the details of their investigation. |
Here you go - published weeks ago. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/12/us/politics/joe-biden-tara-reade-sexual-assault-complaint.html |

Indeed. It is called the truth, which is that Biden didn't do anything sexually wrong. The story has totally fallen apart. I guess we'll start hearing about Hunter again. |
I wouldn’t go that far. You actually have no idea what he did. |
I'm not sure she's capable of telling the truth. It may have happened, it may not have. But Tara Reade is her own worst public relations nightmare. She will bury the story just because she can't tell the truth. I expect that one week, two tops and her 15 minutes of fame will be over, she'll fade into the background and this story will be dropped, mostly because she has obfuscated it beyond any hope of acknowledgment. |
Hard to tell of Reade does either since her story changes multiple times per day. |
| So, I hope all the right wing zealots will give Trump's accusers the same platform and opportunity to make their cases. |
Neither does she. |
You don't know that. The PP could have been present. |

Hmmmmm

If they actually cared about women or sexual violence they sure would. Their silence will say it all. |

A lot of people don't seem to realize that it is very common for people who have experienced trauma to not share all the details at once. It is also very common for them to remember some details vividly and other details are very hazy. People who experience trauma don't always act in the way that you might expect. There is a lot of shame and confusion and guilt and self doubt and humiliation and that impacts what someone says and does and what they share when and to whom. People also may not remember details that weren't important as when the brain is in trauma mode, it ignores certain things to focus on the threat. Sensory experiences are often clearer than other details. Timelines are often confused and changing. Some details are withheld because the person doesn't want to talk about that aspect.
Disclosure and recall are often impacted by the traumatic experience. In any case - this one or any case where someone discloses sexual violence, you can't conclude it didn't happen because s/he didn't immediately give a full detailed account that never changed in any way. |

If I had been raped by someone I had greatly admired on a professional level, I would be in a state of shock and disbelief for a long time. It shatters your world.
On one level you want to scream out in rage to the world, but on another level you want to pretend it didn’t happen just so you can try to get on with your life. He waited all this time to address her charges because his staffers were combing through his records at the University of Delaware. The man is as guilty as hell. Good news for Hill. |
Immediately??? It has been DECADES. And she started talking more than a month ago. That should have been enough time to get your story straight. But when you aren't telling the truth it is hard to keep the details straight. |
