The most logical choice, presuming Biden can hold the black vote. With the Obamas as his surrogates, he should be okay.

I honestly don't see what Amy brings to the ticket. Other than not being in her 70's?

Minnesota, Midwest, women, prosecutor, tough as nails, good life story, will rip little Pence to shreds, doesn't annoy people - she brings a lot to the table

Appeal to midwesterners, especially in WI. Keep up.

^ That said I think it should be Harris or Abrams

To make that statement not understanding the friendly rivalry between Wisconsin and Minnesota is naive.

Plus. Amy has huge issues with African American voters. No. And I am one of the few people who has supported her to the end.

She doesn't annoy me, but I don't think this is universally true.

I am not getting the appeal of Harris. Who does she energize? No one! Biden would sabotage himself with Harris. I do not see WI/PA/MI suburbs loving Harris, in fact it would bring Biden down.

Are you kidding? Do you really think that Biden had any chance in Minnesota if it weren't for Klobuchar? As late as Monday, the polls showed Klobuchar at 27%, Sanders at 21% and Biden at 20%. Biden won with 38.6% to Sanders 29.9%. In 2016, Clinton lost MN in 2016 by 27.6 points to Trump. Klobuchar is very popular there and has won districts that Trump carried by more than 20 points.

Additionally, her brand of midwest pragmatism would be helpful throughout the midwest an area that has long been the weakness of the Democratic party. The Democrats hold the costs and the Republicans hold the middle of the country. If you don't think a popular midwestern senator can help, then I don't know what to tell you. Look at the results from 2016:

Look at that huge swath down the middle of the country. A pragmatic midwesterner will definitely help from The Dakotas down to Texas. Likely more than any other candidate other than perhaps a Latinx candidate.

Say what now? Minnesota has had it share of dirtbag Republicans and the magats are getting a little too numerous, but we are a blue state, TYVM.

You’re a blue state that Trump only lost by 10,000 votes, IIRC.

Because as much as some people like to mock this, or pretend they don't understand, I think it is important for him to have a non-white woman as his second in command. I think that both builds and rewards trust in the black communities, who are essential to the party - and without whom we cannot win - and also with the women of every race who are essential to him winning.

Non-white doesn't matter when it comes to black support. Biden has it on his own.

IMO we already did see four years ago.

DP. You really think that if the choice were between Biden without a black running mate and Trump that black voters would choose Trump? Or stay home?

I think yesterday shows that that would not be the case. I think it is more important for him to secure support in swing states where it may make a much better difference between him winning or not.

What if Trump chooses say Tim Scott as running mate?

The black community did not warm to Harris and though Abrams is a rising star, she is untested on the national stage. Neither would have strong appeal to white working class voters, which is what is needed.
