Doesn’t seem like a white supremacist event to me.

Why hold a pro-gun rally *on* MLK Day?

Instead of reflecting on his great work and words we will be worried about more gun violence. It’s disrespectful at a minimum. It’s blatant hate & racism at worst.

Disgusting.

Lol is this your first time hearing about lobby day? I know you hate rights, so I guess we can add the right to assembly to your list of evil.

Holding a pro-gun rally on MLK Day is disgusting. That’s probably a bigger draw to the white supremacists than the gun rights. Have fun with your very fine friends.

Imagine if all those protesters were black and marching in camouflage with guns. Imagine the conservative heads that would explode at seeing pictures of armed black dudes. Imagine the reaction on Fox News.

Mmmmm, no. You're projecting your own racism.

I'm in favor of everyone being armed. white, black, brown, red, yellow, olive, albino, rainbow, doesn't matter. I want everyone able to protect themselves, not just from ordinary petty criminals, but from ordinary petty dictators.

That's what y'all don't understand about the gun culture. We don't care who you are - if you understand the right to be armed, then we're just brothers from other mothers.

This may be you - let's for the sake of argument accept that it accurately reflects your beliefs.

Are you asserting that this is true for all, or even a majority, of the the people marchng today, and/or conservatives? That they want every AA male to own and carry a firearm?

If you really claim that, you are either dangerously naive or transparently disingenuous. Only you know which.

Umm

It doesn't appear that you understood the comment to which you replied. Or it's another example of being transparently disingenuous.

The only one being disingenuous is you. Just admit that you’re a racist already and get it out the way. Why do you think that black people can’t have guns?
Sad

I'm not sure how you inferred that from what I wrote. More deflection, I guess.

What I said is that the majority of conservatives/gun rights advocates would not be comfortable with large numbers of AA men carrying weapons. History certainly supports that position. If you dispute it, let's hear why.

Don’t let that racism hit you on the door, liberal. I know well enough that white gun owners want any other race to have guns to defend themselves, as well. What kinda garbage post is this?

-signed, a black liberal.

Hmmm looked like all the white people showed up to pre game before the non whites. It's a sea of white. Authorities posted names and pics of known white supremacists that are on their radar. Guess no one learned from Charlottesville eh? A bit irreverent on MLK day, too.

I would have called it a Democratic debate if someone didn't tell me it was about guns.

You are correct that we don't understand "gun culture." We don't understand why there is even such a thing.

Would you like a list of countries in the world with more freedoms than us that have stricter gun controls alphabetically or by size of GDP?

Very proud of 2nd Amendment supporters in Richmond today! All races, all colors, all for the Constitution!
Anonymous
if you're protesting background checks, aren't you supporting arming sex offenders and other criminals who can't pass a background check?

Should we allow people with history of DUIs to retain their license to drive?

Go to the big gun show in Chantilly, VA some weekend and see for yourself. It's probably the only place I can think of where black guys in their 20's can walk around with a AR15 slung over their shoulder amid a crowd of 50-something white folks and no one pays them any mind.

So much for your "gun owners are racist" stereotype.

I have questions for people who wanted to participate in the armed rally because they fear restrictions on their 2A rights not because they want to start a race war.

1. How do you feel about national white supremacists group thinking that your rally is one they should join? I saw the Republican leader of the GA spoke out against it. Do you also condemn those groups (such as the Base that had arrests last week) and wonder why they think your cause is a natural ally?

2. Why do you support not abiding by the laws the GA might pass instead of challenging their constitutionality in the courts as our democratic system calls for?

3. Are you aware that even Justice Scalia said reasonable limits on 2A are permissible?

4. How do you feel about Alex Jones of Infowars conspiracy fame riding around your rally? What about the conspiracy theories floated that Northam or Bloomberg had hired actors to cause trouble at the march?

5. Do you feel bad that the people who believe in gun restrictions had to cancel their presence because of the risk to public safety posed by your rally (especially in light of Charlottesville)?

Thank you to serious people who are worried about their 2A rights for responding.

Yeah I too find the liberal racist stereotyping quite tiresome. I am Asian and go to the NRA range quite often and it is a very diverse and friendly crowd. If anything the anti gun crowd is overwhelmingly white women and feminized men.

“Feminized men”?

That really tells us all we need to know about you.
Anonymous
It's not about racism. It's about keeping guns out of the hands of people who can't pass background checks. I wonder how many sex offenders are in that crowd. I don't care what color they are.

And since I'm the white, male, conservative, gun rights activist here - and you're not - can we both agree that my being so makes me the expert on white male conservative gun rights activists?

Yes? Good.

And as the expert here (again, that's ME, and not you), I can tell you that we're just fine with every law-abiding AA adult in this country owning and carrying gun to protect themselves, their families, their property and homes, from anyone who would desire to do them harm.

You're the one afraid of black folks with guns. Not us.

Or domestic abusers.
