Why would Sasha Obama attend University of Michigan?

That’s the consensus of one repetitive troll. You really need to lighten up, you are talking about an 18 year old girl.

Agree. Academics at Michigan are a joke. You can skip exams or not study at all and show up drunk to exams and still graduate magna cum laude. A friend of mine partied 24/7 at Michigan, never studied and still got 4.0 in electrical engineering. He's not bright either.

Bright enough not to waste time on here!

Jenna Bush graduated from the University of Texas and her sister Barbara from Yale. Jenna has done just fine.

Agreed. This thread baffles me. And the grad programs are very strong.

It’s a great school and has been ranked as high as 8th nationally. Law and Med schools have been ranked in the top three. Trolls gonna troll. Am happy for Sasha for eschewing the tragically desperate crowd who seem incapable of amassing self worth without superficial external validation.

What baffles you? Sidwell alum here. It was a common joke that Michigan was an awful safety school for the students that barely studied and partied. It's an awful choice for a president's daughter.

I’m glad you seem to know what’s best for her. Are all “Sidwell alums” as smug as you are? Is it a prerequisite for enrollment or something?

So I live in Michigan now. It is not an easy school to get in to.

She is going there because her friends are. Good for her.

Obviously she’s going there for the football. Duh.

Why does every Michigan alum (or nutty parent) have to exaggerate what their undergraduate college is? The wealthy kids from good prep schools who end up there were relatively unimpressive students drawn to Ann Arbor to be in Greek life with high school friends and do the rah-rah binge drinking thing on football Saturdays. It is what it is.

Of course you can find some very impressive, very intense grinds there, but kids with her affluence and pedigree end up there to party and pick up an easy somewhat respectable degree.

It's only difficult if you're Asian or Caucasian and need financial aid.

Is this Friendly judgement the result of your Quaker education?
She doesn’t need what you need.
