She didn't. Do you know what that phrase means, "throw under the bus"?

Her friend has health issues that have caused her to quit her job and stay at home. This is public information.

YES, she was being polite and discreet, and respectful. Leland's husband has had to be her full time caretaker.

Unlike Kavanaugh who actually DID throw judge under the bus. He said Judge says it never happened (untrue - his lawyer said he did not recall it) and that Judge has serious problems with alcohol and shouldn't be interviewed!

Why would anyone need to know about Leland's health issues?

Why, indeed? She was asked about Leland's statement by the woman the republican senators were cowering behind.

This. In fact I think she was specifically asked if she and Leland had been in contact.

No. Dr. Ford was asked the following by Rachel Mitchell:

Question: Why did everyone you named as witness come out against you? Including your best friend who says she never met Kavanaugh & the party did not happen?

Dr. Ford (literally): "Leland has significant health challenges, and I am happy that she is focusing on herself"

I love how you cut off the rest of it.

You know, I was just trying to find a quick quotation. Do you have the full text of this exchange. If so, please post it for me. Thanks.

Maybe the FBI can interview the person who gave the polygraph? You know, since the committee refused to call him.

If I were her, I'd take as many polygraphs as the haters want. I'm sure if asked she'd do so.

Think Kav will do so? Doubt it.

+1

Polygraph time for both.

50% of them will agree to this. Guess which 50%???

And the fact that Mitchell's question itself was a bald-faced lie. Leland did not "come out against" Ford. She said she did not recall. Again, Ford's response was reasonable under the circumstances.

Exactly.

So you are literally attacking a rape victim by how she dresses and does her hair for something that is going to be televised all over the world? I usually wear jeans with paint on them, tshirts so faded you can't even read them, and only wear makeup when I have a meeting or a party (so maybe once a month) - if I were in this position I would not show to the senate judiciary hearing looking like I usually do.

Way to attack the victim there. Pat yourself on the back.

She is not a rape victim. She is not allegeing she was raped. Careful.

The report just makes me more sympathetic to Ford. She is being criticized and torn apart and now a prosecutor has torn through and prepared a report for nothing. And there is no report on Kavanaugh. And we all saw his performance and know where the inconsistencies are. Not to mention his conduct.

How bizarre.

LOL. You don't understand it because it doesn't support what you feel. Note the word feel....

You can blow smoke but we are watching and we aren't stupid.

The pp is correct. Her report outlines the inconsistencies and huge gaps in her recollection of events.
Note that the pp said, "The report just makes me more sympathetic to Ford.” It is all about feelings. To hell with the facts.

No I am not attacking the "alleged" victim. You don't get what I am saying. They had her dress and have her hair done in a certain way to make her look like disheveled, like someone who had just been attacked -- it was very intentional.

Do you know her? Please post the before and after pics, thanks.

This thread has devolved into a loop tape. Just the same old stuff rulling round and round and round. Read Kavanaugh Thread #1 and you'll find the same ole arguments, same ole posts over and over. Enough. Post if there's something new to report.

She did. In the rest of the quote!
I don't have the transcript in front of me. Here's where rachel maddow covers the answer to that in detail:

Good luck with that.

Here's something new (maybe it's already been discussed in the many threads)...have we seen Kavanaugh's own yearbook(s)? He's kept has calendars, so it's a good bet that he also has his yearbooks. I think it would be worthwhile to read the messages from friends written in his yearbooks. Do they include mentions of being drunk? Blacking out?

Okay, I found the full transcript of the exchange printed in the Washington Post:

MITCHELL: OK. Have you been in – are you aware that the three people at the party besides yourself and — and Brett Kavanaugh have given statements under penalty of felony to the committee?

FORD: Yes.

MITCHELL: And are you aware of what those statements say?

FORD: Yes.

MITCHELL: Are you aware that they say that they have no memory or knowledge of such a party?

FORD: Yes.

MITCHELL: OK. Do you have any particular motives to ascribe to Leland?

FORD: I guess we could take those one at a time. Leland has significant health challenges, and I’m happy that she’s focusing on herself and getting the health treatment that she needs, and she let me know that she needed her lawyer to take care of this for her, and she texted me right afterward with an apology and good wishes, and et cetera, So I’m glad that she’s taking care of herself.

I don’t expect that P.J. and Leland would remember this evening. It was a very unremarkable party. It was not one of their more notorious parties, because nothing remarkable happened to them that evening. They were downstairs.

And Mr. Judge is a different story. I would expect that he would remember that this happened.

MITCHELL: Understood.

I still don't understand why Leland's health issues needed to be mentioned. She was not summoned to appear before the committee, so there was no need to mention why she was not at the hearing.

Anonymous wrote:I posted this near the end of thread 3. I’m curious what Kavanaugh supporters think, particularly of the last paragraph.

“I honestly don’t know who is telling the truth. I don’t believe her blindly, but I also don’t think she’s involved in some big conspiracy (even if one is happening around her.) And certainly some people screwed the pooch procedurally here.

All that said, his behavior on Thursday was absolutely horrific and completely unbecoming of a Supreme Court Justice. He is hot tempered and blatantly partisan. Yes, lots of people in the room were being partisan, but he was the only one trying to become a Supreme Court Justice.”

As I’ve said before, if he had been polite and answered the questions cordially and directly, this would all be over. He has humiliated himself and shown he can’t remain calm and impartial in tense situations.”

Up until this morning I felt the same way as you, I didn't necessarily know who was telling the truth. After the Rachel Mitchell memo I am inclined to believe BK. there are too many loopholes in her story some of which make me think she is intentionally being dishonest. That being said I think his explanations of the meanings of his yearbook statements amounts to perjury and he probably did himself in on that alone. However, I do not believe he assaulted Christine Ford.

But not all of the evidence was presented and statements made by witnesses were submitted by lawyers, and not given under oath. A proper investigation is needed before any conclusions can be drawn.

The local police said they were willing to investigate. Ford and team said nope

No, she didn’t.

MITCHELL: OK. And when you – when you did leave that night, did Leland Keyser – now Keyser ever follow up with you and say hey, what happened to you?

FORD: I have had communications with her recently.

MITCHELL: I’m talking about like the next day.

FORD: Oh no, she didn’t know about the event. She was downstairs during the event and I did not share it with her.

MITCHELL: OK. Have you been in – are you aware that the three people at the party besides yourself and — and Brett Kavanaugh have given statements under penalty of felony to the committee?
