Wait, referring to scholars who are more learned than you, and reading their books to form your own knowledge is "piggy backing on other's intellectual efforts"? In my college we called it "studying". |
I'd argue you are the lazy one who is making assumptions about anonymous posters on a public message board and simultaneous criticising and insulting anyone who doesn't believe the same way you do. Maybe it stems from a deep dissatisfaction you have with your religious choices? |
Haha! DP but I went to a top 3 MBA school. PP hit the nail on the head when describing both MBA students and you. Somebody provided helpful links on another thread. Go pursue these questions yourself. We don’t have the time to be trolled by you. |
You are absolutely right. There is no God. The universe is a horrible random cesspool with no redeeming features whatsoever. Even the beautiful blue sky is evil because it shines down on dead children and people with nothing better to do than mock people on the internet. It is all random, hopeless, ugly, and pointless. There is no God, there is no good, there is no beauty. Why don't we just admit it? All the evil, suffering, horribleness of this world is for no good reason. There is no redemption for pain. We come to this world for no reason, suffer, get dementia, hurt those around us, and then die, all for no reason. You are absolutely right. |
not only that, but there is no such thing as justice, redemption, fairness, honesty. Everything has no meaning. All meanings we try to construct are meaningless, because at the foundation, we are just random particles with no meaning. We can claim to love beauty and justice, but it is just a cruel trick of evolution. A nazi and a saint have the same moral worth, as we are all not even sentient, not even alive, just blobs of energy. It is too bad this universe ever existed, because it is a pointless waste of energy. Whenever we think we feel just, we are just forgetting that we are injuring all kinds of plants. Everytime we walk, we kill bugs. But who cares beacuse not only is god an illusion, life itself is an illusion. |
I wouldn't want to be you... |
That’s the absence of hope that Jesus was sent to conquer. I know that your post is done to illustrate the lack of hope or meaning that those who do not know God feel. But they don’t need to. |
Life is just an allusion? Ok. But if we kill bugs and plants, they must be alive, first. If bugs and plants live, we live. Life is all around us. A baby born screaming at the world and fighting to draw air into its lungs for the first time is alive. Energy blobs don’t need to eat and breathe and drink water to live. You are overwhelmed with sadness and depression. You need a therapist. Living as you live leads to suicide. Get help, because people love you and God loves you. |
There are many -- perhaps most -- non-believers in god who don't feel the way pp does. In fact many people, once they reject god belief, appreciate life even more, realizing what a rare, wonderful opportunity it is. |
Fabulous. But pp sounds hopeless and suicidal and deeply unhappy and unable to even accept him or herself. pp needs professional help not because they don’t accept God, but because life has no meaning for them in a very ugly and destructive way. pp, get some help. You don’t have to feel that way. You need therapy and medication. You need to at least see the value in yourself and some beauty and goodness in the world. The world is a rough place and it’s easy sometimes to feel depressed. But you can get help. |
If life is a rare and wonderful opportunity, I hope you are pro-life, and believe all humans that begin life within their mother should be given the chance to experience life as you do. |
yes, but those people are even more deluded than those who believe in leprechauns. At least leprechauns have some basis in fact. They are the racist projections of the Celts towards the indigenous people who lived in the British Isles. People who believe there is such a thing as life when all facts say there really is no such thing are just as ridiculous as people who invent Gods. If you want to look at the facts squarely, then do it! Give up all things that are just wishful thinking of a much of random pointless energy. |
