I don't think people burn in hell. I don't believe in Hell, but Christians do. Maybe they should do something about saving these people. But maybe they enjoy the idea of people burning in hell, as long as they are not one of them. |

Yes - random and meaningless. No good god would allow such things. We give "god" credit for the good things, but he doesn't deserve it. Those things are random too, or brought about by humans, just like the bad things. |

You are obsessed with religion yet reject it. You reject Christianity and God but spend every day here talking about how happy you are to not be religious. You constantly post about non-believers burning in hell. Somehow I just don’t believe your life is all that happy if it consists of inhabiting the forum and proclaiming people are going to suffer for eternity. It seems quite odd. |

As we all know, there are a very large number of Christians. Some of them are intelligent reasonable people. I suspect this poster, though, was a child of some nut case Christians who used "Christianity" as an excuse to abuse her. This has left her with deep scars, and very incorrect notions of what religion in general and Christianity in particular are. Yes, she is obsessed, the way abused people are obsessed. Yes, she is not thinking clearly, the way abused people don't think clearly. I think all we can do is pray for her, and make her feel welcome despite her obvious scars. |

Check. 3. “Maybe they should do something about saving these people.” So you want Christians to go save people from a place you don’t believe in? How does that make sense? You even think he’ll exists but are outraged Christians aren’t out saving others from an imaginary place? Why do you care? It’s not real, remember? 3. Christians would spread the word of God more and try to save more people but you can no longer mention or speak of God, Jesus, or salvation openly or you are attacked. I posted a thread titled “Salvation and Redemption” and a couple other posters said I was trying to convert people. For simply posting a link and explaining what was at the link. See? I am a Christian but even in a religion forum, discussing salvation is offensive to some. 4. Where you imply Christians like people to burn in Hell. I can speak for all Christians, but I don’t want any person to burn in hell. As an aside, I heard a preacher once say hell isnt a hot place where you physically suffer, it’s a place where you are utterly alone and separated from God and goodness and love. But whatever hell is, I don’t want you to go there either. I ask you to open your heart to Christ. |

+1 Agreed. I do like strict attention and obedience to the Word of God, but I don’t like being mean to people because I am a sinner too. I know some people who seem to use God’s word as a weapon, even against those they proclaim to love. |

Christians believe in either eternal damnation or eternal happiness depending on one's actions while on earth and one's belief in Christ. That's a basic tenet of the religion and the ostensible reason for worldwide missionary work - spreading the word of god to save people from the hell that they believe awaits non-Christians. The Bible is very clear on this, as is the Roman Catholic catechism. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." John 3:36 |

Agreed, 199%. Preach. But perhaps the poster was raised in a household where they were abused or beaten or deprived of the basics of life, while the Christian caretaker quoted scripture and attended church and was an all around terrible person. There’s tons of situations that can affect the way a person views Christianity. That’s why a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the answer. Depend on Him. I had a college roommate who was the daughter of a pastor, and her brother absolutely molested her. (This was the early 80s) He was a very awful man. He was also a liar, a hypocrite, and didn’t protect his own daughter. But there are millions of Christians that absolutely care about their fellow man. And aren’t perfect. But would still like to share the good news of Jesus Christ. And yes, Christians do believe what you posted, most. I do. But if I share that, I am accused of trying to convert. If I am silent, I am accused of not caring about my fellow man and relish that unbelievers will “burn.” Basically no Christian can satisfy this poster. |

No need to openly relish the burning of unbelievers; just knowing what John said is enough to assure people that following Christianity will avoid one's own burning. Christians should not worry about satisfying non-believers. The Word of God is readily available to them. |
