Agreed

You two must live in Montgomery County. That's probably the only county in the state where it even looks remotely like Hogan won't win. Outside of MoCo, the rest of the state is a pretty solid lock for Hogan. He has like a 70% approval rating across the state, but well over 80% outside of MoCo.

I simply cannot fathom how people who call themselves democrats are going to vote for a white republican over an African American democrat. And then they'll look at themselves in a mirror and tell themselves they aren't racist.

Unbelievable

Registered Democrat from Mont County. Will vote for Hogan for number of reasons. 1) he’s the best candidate with most experience. Jealous and Baker don’t impress me. 2) He’s a Republican by name but his policies are truly more of a moderate. He hasn’t really pushed any strong conservative social issues and he knows where to distance himself from National republicans. 3) He’s more fiscally conservative than O’Malley who couldn’t find a thing he didn’t want to tax by the end of his terms 4) checks and balances in government. I believe government works best when each party had some power so I think he helps rein in some of the outlandish far left ideas that Md Congressman have proposed in past,

Another registered from Montgomery County. Will not vote for Hogan for a number of reasons. 1) He has been bad for Maryland schools, with his arbitrary calendar dictates that harm our kids' education while trying to boost a tiny part of his voting base in the Maryland shore, 2) He has not released funds that were due to Montgomery County for schools, despite repeated requests, 3) He did not speak out against Trump's Muslim ban and 4) He has not been aggressive in shoring up our private sector base (he didn't even call Discovery until the day before they announced they were leaving MoCo).

+1 People keep telling me they're thinking of voting for Maddaleno because he's "electable in the general." Which reminds me of the people who told me I should vote for Hillary over Barack Obama back in 2008 because she was more electable.

I have to assume you’re a race baiting troll because this is epically stupid

+1 Hogan hasn't done anything remarkable for Maryland. I honestly don't understand why he's so popular.

Good post. I'm not super liberal when it comes to local/state politics but I don't get why he is so popular either.

He's likeable and seems fiscally competent. He makes the state look reasonable. Massachusetts also has a republican governor. People want their states run properly since it really has a local effect.

Most people I’ve talked to are planning to vote for hogan, regardless of party affiliation.

That's simply not true. For example, just last week he pulled MD National Guard troops from the border to protest the family separations.

Like him or don't, but lying about it doesn't help anything.
