So, let's banish transgender people and children from locker rooms! And lets banish moms from locker rooms too. We can't have moms in locker rooms - I don't feel safe with a person who would bring a 5 year old into a locker room. What is WRONG with people!!

| A link from "lifesitenews"? Really? |
So, let's ban men from walking around in public. You know - they may rape you. |
1. Because the majority of people posting here is female. 2. Because only a tiny amount of men would have a problem with a woman walking into their locker rooms - be she a natural one or not. 3. Because no man has to be afraid of a woman appearing in their locker rooms - they do not pose any danger. That question really was unnecessary. |
Oh...you dislike the site so the article is invalid...okay. |
Actually, she has no more rights (or you) then anyone else does in a public space. That's the wonderful thing about this country. We are all equal under the law. |
Actually, a rapist wouldn't care about "gender identity" a rapist would just wait behind the back ally and rape you vs. dressing up as a woman and doing it in a lighted locker room in a gym. Signed, Someone who worked in prison with actual rapists |
Has any reputable source reported on it, or just "lifesitenews"? |
OK, now that we've established that it's dangerous for women to use the men's locker room, could you please explain why you want some women to have to use the men's locker room? |
Toronto Sun? I'm not FROM the US so I don't know what you would call reputable. The story is real...I'm sure someone with more knowledge of good or bad media could find the same story from the 'proper' sources. |
I don't. I am the poster who keeps saying we need gender neutral changing rooms or just some single stalls. If you have a penis you are not to expose it to women. If you have a vagina you are not to expose it to men. We are talking about areas where people make themselves vulnerable. They do so because they expect what is being advertised on the outside: women or men only. You can not seriously tell women to be okay with seeing penises in their changing rooms. I'm sorry that doesn't make any kind of sense. That goes for any human being. It is not ONLY about the danger of being attacked. Now for transgender people who do not expose themselves: I find it absolutely reasonable they share facilities with the gender they feel they are. There is no actual need to expose your genitals. If you demand respect from people by letting you share their facilities why don't you just give some to them and keep your genitals covered? That would be a very possible in between step until we actually have the correct facilities. And places that offer gender separated facilities need to do some human relations work - explain to people that transgender people may use these facilities but are required to keep their genitals covered or something. I am sure a workable solution for everyone is possible if only everyone would be willing to compromise. |
Because it is not hypothetical . |
OK, could you link to Toronto Sun coverage, please? |
It sounds to me like when you say "gender neutral changing rooms", what you really mean is "changing rooms that transgender people should use". The women's locker room is the women's locker room, not the ciswomen's locker room. And the men's locker room is the men's locker room, not the cismen's locker room. But if you want to institute a policy that everybody in all locker rooms must keep their genitals covered -- well, ok. |
Could you please link to an actual instance, as reported by a reputable news source, of a transgender woman attacking a cisgender woman in a women's locker room? |
