Usha Vance - Fashion Thread

That dress is awful. She looks wasitless and it’s just so off the rack prom. It’s bad. Melania also looks thick waisted and it’s time for a new look at 60.

Oh come on. This HAS to be Usha's mom or sister lol.

DP. If you don’t realize there is a chance JD wins two terms and that a majority supports and likes her husband and therefore her, you are not paying attention.

Of course we realize there is a chance. As someone just said, there is a chance anything could happen. Politics are wild lately. He could very well win, he could very well lose. I'm not interested in making blanket claims.

Heard a great description of JD Vance today, that he's MAGA with a suburban accent. Meaning he doesn't have Trump's baggage and more respectability in the suburbs. Don't underestimate the potential power of this, but you are also right that four years is an eternity in politics. Still, looking forward to their first official Diwali photo as a VP couple.

I don't think the Trump administration ever acknowledged Diwali before. What makes you think they will now just because the VP's wife is Indian-American? There will be little to no discussion of her heritage in the next four years.

It's okay. It's not fashionable but it's inoffensive. A little figure skater-y but that's a standard evening wear look. Her hair looks weird and I think she should have worn it up.

On the subject of her hair, I appreciate that she doesn't dye it -- I have a similar amount of gray and don't dye it either. But it really wouldn't take that much effort to make her hair look smooth and shiny and healthy. Again, I have similar hair and it can easily look as hers does (and often does like that when I'm just dropping off kids at school or going to the beach or something) but it doesn't take that much effort to make it look very nice. And that's just me at home doing a hair mask and giving myself a blowout with some midrange products to keep it smooth. It's what I do if I'm meeting with clients, going to a party, or having my photo taken for something. I'm not getting highlights or having extensions put in or anything -- just putting a little extra time and effort into my hair so it looks nice in a situation where looking particularly professional or photogenic is helpful.

She can do what she wants but it's so weird to me that she wouldn't want to just look a bit more polished. We have the technology!

I don't care for this dress, but that's just my personal opinion about the dress itself. I think it could be a little more fitted on her. She looks nice, but she just doesn't know what to do with her hair. I hope she figures it out.

Really? I'm one of Usha's biggest fashion haters but that is actually one of her better looks.

I like it too. Flattering color and cut but some interesting details. Her make up is not my favorite but not bad.

She doesn't have good skin, large patches of melasma and very dark undereye circles. She needed better foundation and a brighter lip.

I love her outfit, think it's the bad hair and makeup that make her look a little dowdy.

Way too much product on her hair, which is styled in an unflattering way. Earrings look silly and eye makeup looks messy not polished.

So comical. I bet you're the same poster who criticized her last year for not looking polished enough, not doing her hair (to your specifications, of course), and not wearing enough makeup. She looked great. The one strapless dress was a little ill-fitting up top, but not horrible. All of her other dresses have been on point, as has her hair and makeup.

Do you...do you think there's only one person here who thinks Usha can't style herself properly???

DP. It’s clear you are indeed the know-it-all from a previous Usha Vance thread. You think you’re somehow the arbiter of good taste when in fact, many of your comments are so off-base as to be laughable.

I agree with others that her pink coat was divine. Perhaps it’s you who needs to be styled “properly”?

Anonymous wrote:Her pink coat today. I agree with others that her coats do not look tailored and look oversized. Compare to Melania's coat which is clearly impeccably tailored (though also made of a thinner fabric so easier to get a fitted look). I think the pink color is flattering and appropriate and I like the earrings. However they are also oversized and her gloves also look oversized, and then the boots are heavy and wide. The attached scarf looks messy in the way is knotted -- that's how you knot/fold a scarf to walk to the metro on your way to work. It makes the whole thing look like it's hanging off her -- it's wearing her instead of her wearing it.

Nothing special and an odd choice given the indoor setting. I love the color though. JD looks like a schoolboy playing dress up.

I couldn't disagree more with all of the above. She looks lovely and the coat fits her perfectly. It's a COAT, meant to be worn over something. The boots are a cool and interesting choice - no boring pumps. The scarf is supposed to be knotted and tucked that way. It's Oscar de la Renta.

Usha has styled herself impeccably. I'm so sorry you know this deep down but can't bring yourself to admit it.

Be so for real. I liked the coat today but she's never styled herself "impeccably."

Are you 12? This entire weekend she has absolutely looked fabulous.

What? Ok, now it’s clear you’re simply so blinded by your politics that you can’t even be objective. C’mon, man.

Except that she *does* look polished. Very much so. Your obsession with her hair as compared to… yours… is bizarre.

Love the inaugural ball dress! She looks beautiful!

Agree! Hair, makeup, dress - gorgeous.

Melania is 54 - and looks fabulous. I’d kill for her figure.

It's clear you're a schizophrenic and think you can tell anonymous posters apart. I said that I liked her coat repeatedly. I do not think she generally looks good.
Anonymous
Oh, and I actually liked her ball gown more than the coat, which I also liked (saying it louder for the psycho who thinks I'm a "know-it-all" for not thinking Usha is always dressed perfectly).
Anonymous
Her inaugural gown and entire look was perfection. She looks so beautiful and happy.

To me, Usha is average looking but is fit and toned. She could improve with better hair and makeup.

Her fashion choices seem to be of a woman who does not normally care about fashion or pay attention to it. She is still figuring out what looks good on her. Her fashion choices don't seem particularly interesting or well fitted or appropriate for the occasion. I feel that pink coat was the wrong color, the belt looked weird. The white coat seemed almost bridal. The coats she chooses overwhelm her frame.

Her dresses often are ill fitting, the strapless ones do not do her figure favors when they are too tight in the chest for that multicolored one or the weird buttons on the dark strapless dress.

Serious question: Why are you so worked up about someone liking a couple outfits worn by a woman you've never met?
