To add: What would Israel prefer for a piece of land it wants to invade and attack at will? (a) air defense (b) no air defense |
As an American*, who would you prefer to control territory--Israel or [random jihadist group of the month]? |
Not Israel, sorry. We saw what it does in the land it grabs. |
This is why, ladies and gentlemen, the American talk of "2 state solution" is all barefaced lies. The US is fully behind Israel's expansion and land grab. |
As an American why would I want a country that is openly hostile and humiliates the US every chance it gets to be in control of more territories? |
The stone cold sober answer is the latter. Israel propped up to control more territory is contrary to world peace. |
Have we already hit the missing Assad stage?
Too bad we didn't have recent examples in nearby countries of why happens when you knock off a secular ruler and replace them with squabbling Jihadis. |

You need to put away your Israeli colored glasses and see the world through American strategic interest. If Syria has chemical weapons Israel will not attack and invade it. This means Syria can become a stable and viable country. Israel does not want this. Israel wants every neighboring country to be a failed state so it can have a buffer zone. Israel is unimportant to the US in term of strategic and military value in the world and region. The US needs to ignore what the Israelis wants and act on the interests of the US. Israel is really a lead weight tied around our neck. The US strategic interest in the area revolve around oil and countering Russia and China. This means the US’s long term goal should be to stabilize the many failed states by giving the power to the people. These newly stabilized states will be anti Israeli because Israeli actions throughout the region and its continuation of oppression of the Palestinians. This is the root cause of instability in the region. Until that is fixed you are just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. The US needs to reestablishing a working relationship with Iran, a friendly Iraq and a stable US friendly or neutral Syria. Israel will never allow this. This will be done by first forcing the Israeli to address and fix the Palestinian issue. The only capable ally the US has in the area is Turkey and they do not run to the US for protection every time they attack another country. |
Very cool that I now speak for the entire United States! Thank you. My first proclamation is that everyone has to superglue a kumquat to their head. Please proceed accordingly. (Note that I never said I "supported" Israel's actions. Rather, I argued that objectively speaking, Israel's actions likely do benefit the United States. Capisce?). |
I mean Hamas owns this, so … your side made a massive tactical miscalculation. |
DP Didn’t President Clinton spent a lot of political capital to do two state solutions and the hardliners from both Israel and Palestinian Authorities killed the deal ? |
Did you actually read the article? Was your vision that Iran would control Syria? |
US is helping the Kurds and Turkey is bombing them. How is this going to play out ? |
Hamas owns Syrian air defense? Okay. |
