This...this is the hill you'll die on? I should mention she's very uneducated.

I have a masters degree in a stem hard science field and voted the same way.

If Dems are pushing 2+2=5 nonsense then I want nothing to do with them.

If you don't mind me asking , What stem hard science field? When did you get your Masters?

This alienated real women (trans women are not biologically women) and caused them to vote R or not at all.

See pastor Gino Jennings for the definition of a woman.

Agreed.

And it wasn’t necessary to adopt such rigid messaging on a fringe topic.

Heck, people forget that Obama didn’t embrace gay marriage.

Dems should have said we respect everyone—men and women, including trans men and trans women. No need to eliminate the word trans from generic labels. It’s not a bad word.

The amount of attention Democrats at all levels focus on transsexuals is certainly one factor contributing to the blow-out.

For your information, some people (people with rights, by the way), are transgender, not - as you put it - “transsexual.”

And yes, certain transgender folks seek out gender-affirming, medical care. But that is an entirely private matter between them and their doctor!

Your post came off as a little transphobic,
PP. Do better.

While it may be important to you this is a fringe issue irrelevant to the majority of voters. They have bigger fish to fry. They really don’t care about you any more than you care about them and their concerns and their are far more of them that you.

More than a fringe issue. People did care about men playing and dominating women's sports: olympics, ncaa; amateur events; and many others.

DP. You never did the math, I did. There is a TINY number of trans athletes. There is literally a one-in-a-million chance of the average woman athlete even having to compete against someone biologically male. That makes it an extreme fringe issue. I'm not saying it's right that biological males should be allowed in competitive sports with females, but that it has been grossly overblown and politicized. And, this is something that rightly should be addressed by NCAA etc, not through this. And now we're going to have to deal with the disaster of everything else that came with your choice on trans athletes.

This. The premise depends on the rejection of reality. It’s a bridge too far.

100%

I just want to clarify. You're saying the transactivists are the woman-haters, right? I am educated women who is quite certain that transwomen hate us.

But based on what I'm seeing here, accusations of racism, sexism, and other -isms will continue to dominate the conversation instead of serious soul searching. Good luck with that.

Keep telling yourself that and you’ll have a Republican win in 2028 too.

The democrats need to listen to what is being said here. Don’t stick your head in the sand. Get straight on border issues, inflation, working class issues. Stop with the gender identity nonsense. The next four years will be chaotic. A centrist candidate can win in 2028. Smart democrats will put one forward.

When the majority of the country is cool with Trump as president, we are doomed either way. Those voters aren’t going anywhere. We are stuck with them. My poor grandchildren.

+1

As a Dem I feel I'm now being punished for a handful of fringe issues that MAGAs blew out of proportion and lied about, most of which the average Democrat doesn't even believe in or support. This election was so ridiculously rife with disinformation.

What a racist and xenophobic generalization!

You are wrong and also a terrible human, PP.

And for your information, it is “LatinX people,” not Latinos.

It’s Latino and Latina . No one uses LatinX other than white women and dudes who put soy in their lattes

This, overwhelming percentage of Latinos in this country doesn't use or like the term. NYTimes reported it's something like 4-6% that support the term. Maybe start calling people but what THEY think they should be called.

Weird. The Latino community is who came up with it in the first place, and it got adopted my many others who were tired of having to type out "latino and latina" over and over again. Shorter to just type "latinx"

It's because of the arrogance of Joe Biden and assuming Americans can be forced to have an 86 year old president. Biden is a stain on America for putting the nation in this position. And then having the party elites bypass primaries to anoint someone who couldn't even get enough support to make it to Iowa when she ran in 2020.

And then it's because Democrats are so stuck in their la-di-dah progressive silos. Up above progressive word police are still insisting on LatinX. That is exactly why Democrats can't reach the working class, the middle class, white men, GenZ, black men, and Hispanics. Democrats are reduced to rich white and black women who went to Smith and Howard. That is not a winning coalition. Democrats can't even manage to talk to people outside their bubbles. And they are fixated on the wrong issues - DEI, Gaza, restorative justice, making schools awful for everyone. And the sad thing is that rich and privileged Democrats are unlikely to learn anything.

It's not just the sports. It is illegal for children under the age of 18 to choose to get a tatoo, but cut off their genitals? Sure. We are in dangerous times. Instead of supporting young people struggling with mental health issues, we're turning to the medical industrial complex to fix it. Then forcing all of the rest of us to play along with this dangerous game, with pronouns and no definition of "woman." Wake up.

Because this is a deeply stupid country. Given the choice between democracy and fascism, we chose fascism. God help us.

Whether you like Trump or not, he won simply because he spoke to the issues Americans care about.

Americans do not care about abortion and Donald Trump being bad.

That’s not what keeps them up at night. It’s the economy, foreign wars, public safety, the public schools.

yep. Case in point this website. They're on here calling people stupid. Calling the other side stupid is why Trump is back.

This.

The people who insist on only seeing these awful candidates gender/sex deserve to lose.

If you care about women, value the lives of the millions of American women over the careers and grift$ of insiders like Hillary and Kamala.
