Will Trump drop Vance?

I wonder if my brown skinned adopted kids will count? Probably not.

When I asked my Vietnam war veteran grandfather what "public affairs" meant as far as Vance's military service, he rolled his eyes. My grandfather saw a lot of friends die in Vietnam, he doesn't have any respect for a nancy boy neocon like Vance itching to start wars with Iran and Russia.

I'm no fan of Vance or Trump, but isn't Vance's position that we should abandon Ukraine and just let Russia have it? I thought he was an isolationist who will just rollover for Putin and any other "strongman" dictator.

Vance is an American Enterprise Institute neocon. His first interview after becoming VP was on Fox News hyping up a war with Iran.

So JimBob and Michelle Duggar would get 20 votes each? Or would they have to split them up?

I assume JimBob would get 21 votes to represent his whole family. Don't worry, he'll take care of Michelle's votes for her.

The Vance pick is what swayed your vote? Not January 6 or Trump being a convicted felon? I mean, I'm glad for any reason people don't vote Trump, but it does seem like Vance just pales in comparison to the many other good reasons not to vote for Trump.

Trump is clearly going to resign if he wins. Look at his body language, he's slowing down and clearly not into it anymore. The neocon fantasy is to hand it off to 40 year old Vance who can then rule as POTUS for the next 11-12 years.

Sincere question: What about Vance excites you?

NP.

Non-parents can't vote? what kind of crap is that? And step parents don't count as parents?

This is the most Trumpy thing about Vance yet. Trump will find this endearing.

If it possible she lied to him and he didn’t check and just believed her? My uncle was the president of a large company but I had also been told he founded it when I was a kid. As an adult I found out he was not the founder but was in fact one of the presidents so for years I had been going around proudly telling people my uncle founded this company when he didn’t.

Is your uncle Elon Musk?

So good!

His mom was a straight A student and salutatorian on the high school. She became a nurse, his step-dad was a CDL truck driver, and the grandpa who allegedly helped raise him was a pensioned retired union rep.

Nothing about his bio is that bad. He’s a pathological lying worm.

Know a guy who grew up there. He described it as life-sucking boring and conforming. Banged up from deindustrialization, but not Appalachia.

I am skeptical of Vance, but his high school was 100% low income: https://www.greatschools.org/ohio/middletown/1124-Middletown-High-School/

Not was. Is now. You linked 2024. Now do 30 years ago. Also, a 91% grad rate isn’t awful for low income. But mostly— what was in in 1994?

100% low income likely just means everyone automatically qualifies for subsidized lunch. Many state legislatures give all k-12 students free lunch. Or it could just be an error from the data that site is pulling. Middletown is a perfectly pleasant middle class suburb midway between Dayton and Cincinnati. Nothing special but hardly bleak. Bleak Rustbelt are towns like Gary, Indiana and Flint, Michigan. And yes, Middletown was even nicer in the 90s which he was writing about.

That isnt true. My kids go to a school where all students receive free meals regardless of income because such a high percentage do qualify. GreatSchools still gives the correct percentage of low income students.

Just admit this is a terrible high school. It offers or has nearly zero AP class participation, only 17% of kids move on to a 4 yr degree, only 22% try for 2 yr or vocational. Testing is below state averages significantly.

Maybe you should move to Middletown and send your kids there. Such a wholesome middle class town.

Three decades separate the grad stats, but we know math/facts are not big GOP strengths

He doesn't wear eyeliner, he just has striking eyes and very thick eyelashes which I'm jealous of. But you know all that. Keep up the trolling!

I didn't think about it until I saw this post so I went back and looked at some of his pictures. In some of them he does look like he's wearing eyeliner and mascara. It's not a shameful thing to do and why shouldn't he if he thinks it make him look better? It does show the hypocrisy of so many Republicans though.

The former wife of Kamala’s husband, Kerstin Emhoff, disagrees that step parents don’t count as parents.

Where did he make these remarks? Shame them for sharing their platform with a misogynist.

But he has no problem with his gay mentor buying a woman's womb and egg and taking her baby away from her after delivery? Which he did -- twice.

the rules NEVER apply to them

I'm not defending his stance, which is wrong.

But he is saying that all children should have a vote. (Presumably unborn fetuses too I guess?)

Since kids under 18 are still minors, their parents would vote for them.

So have 6 kids, parents get 6 votes. Now, which parent? Mom or dad? I guess he'd say dad...

What about kids of illegal immigrants, but kids who were born in the US? I wonder if he has really thought this through because he'd just magnify the immigrant/minority vote, wouldn't he?
