Because U9 tournaments in Olney are the only sure way to success in life. U9? Seriously - we're bragging about U9?

Oh my kid doesn’t play for them so I’m not bragging. But you gotta be honest. They play good soccer for 8 year olds in comparison to what else I have seen in America. So I’m giving them their props.

The mail point being it seems like their youth pipeline is strong and they because of that they should have a strong teams from 12 to 15 years of age. I can’t imagine them going down anytime time soon.

My nephews team at Liverpool beat Bethesda every time they played them last year. They are playing some great little football over at Liverpool in that age bracket! We had fun watching them.

You are aware that there are 3-5 teams per age bracket at Bethesda U12 and under, and I would bet everything I own that your nephew's Liverpool team was not playing the top (or even second) Bethesda team. (Well, looks like 2013 top Liverpool team beat 2013 SECOND Bethesda team last October. Whoop-dee-do.) If your nephew is developing well at Liverpool (and not just playing "kickball" as clubs in that tier tend to do, then good on him and the club (seriously).

BSC is best kick ball team in the area. Zero soccer played at BSC.

LOLOLOLOL, now I've seen it all here. Bethesda plays through the back in a very technical style, often to their detriment results-wise. Give me a team and age group that you think plays kickball. You can't.

Very technical!? GTFOH coach.

I’m not a BSC fan and this is correct on girls ecnl. Definitely not kickball. Can’t speak for boys.

I've never watched a girls' game for BSC, but the boys' teams, aside from one coach (SM), mostly play disorganized kickball. It's really tough to watch. Coaching staff on boys side is probably one of the worst in the area. I seriously don't think they care at all.

There’s a group working on bringing a new club to the bethesda area. They are building new fields. Heard some of bethesda coaches are already secretely on board and they will be offering encl girls program.

Wouldn't a club have to prove themselves before ECNL let's them in. Maybe ECRL?

LOL, prove themselves it's youth soccer. If they can field teams let them in.

“Bethesda plays through the back in a very technical style. “ WOW, this proves that the club has no idea and says anything. Doesn't even make soccer sense.

Not necessarily. All about the plan, the fields and the connections

Does BSC have a plan or fields?

Potomac girls are not within a million miles of ECNL ready or worthy. Boys they’re stronger and it is a totally different story with BSC having MLSNext and no other ECNL boys programs in county. Not to mention Achilles MLSN.

More realistic is a GA program in MoCo. They have a big presence around Baltimore and surrounding areas (Armour, Celtic, Coppermine).

Potomac had a short lived partnership with the now defunct Metro United.

I guess MoCo is big enough for another ECNL but it would make zero sense for Potomac any time soon. Maybe RL only (like DC Soccer) which also helps with less travel for MD RL teams. Works well in VA with more RL teams because of the combined ECNL team clubs having their own RL teams, which MD does not have.

JC has talked out of his a$$ for years about some plan to get BSC fields. I’ve never heard of any tangible progress unless you count one small grass field with no lights at Washington Episcopal. They touted that like it was a huge deal.

BSC coaches like to scream and joystick their girls to play robotic soccer with no creativity or joy.

Dismissing the readiness or worthiness of clubs in MoCo seems harsh and just wrong. The reality is that development is a dynamic process, and clubs evolve rapidly based on the quality of their coaching, resources, and commitment to player.

As for BSC, while they have MLSNext and ECNL, it doesn’t necessarily make them more “worthy” than other clubs—every organization has its strengths and areas for growth. Seriously just think, we have to pay trainers more than the club in many cases because the coaching is so terrible just so our kids don't fall behind. But THAY speaks to a broader issue across many clubs, not just one. We should only have to pay for the platform lol.

If there’s a growing interest and talent pool in MoCo, why shouldn’t there be more opportunities for players, whether that’s through ECNL, GA, MLSN or other platforms?

It’s funny to see bethesda coaches in this board taking credit for developing players when in 99% of the cases these kids been developed by Paul Torres at Next Star. Ask any of these kids who they attribute their development to and you’ll see.

Hi Bethesda folks who may be reading this thread. Does anyone know the score of the U15 (2010) match against Real Jersey from the past weekend? It's the only age group not posted.
