Can I sue Callie Oettinger?

I think it will be harder for the Goldwater Institute's image to step in with their high profile pro-bono support if it's 35000 parents suing.

It won’t. Next?

How many times have you posted your short, defensive replies with no facts or reasoning on this thread? And are you Callie or her bestie?

How many times have you been posting trying to encourage people here to sue when there is zero laws making what Callie did is illegal?

I'm not the PP, but I've just been encouraging people to talk to real lawyers not listen to some random jerk on the internet. That's pretty much what all the other posters seem to be doing too. Parents should get together, talk to the lawyers among themselves, talk to the lawyer who worked on the case for FCPS and see what is possible. Callie Oettinger intentionally wronged us. We'll find out if there's any recompense.

I personally have no interest in suing FCPS--that's like shooting your own taxpaying foot IMO. But others may differ.

And a real lawyer will gladly take your money. But no lawyer will take this on a contingency because it’s a loser.

We'll see--I could see a lawyer willing to figure out ways to advocate and represent for 35,000 often affluent families in Fairfax just for the general good will and reputation.

What are the odds that one of the parents is a lawyer willing to do it?

None. She didn’t violate any laws.

Neither did OJ and he lost a lot of civil lawsuits over the years

I’d lose my mind if I worked there. What a waste of taxpayer dollars answering request and request.

This is my issue.

FOIA laws are good laws. I believe in governmental transparency. I don't believe in FOIA abuse and fishing expeditions, which is what's been going on here. And I certainly don't believe in it when it targets my child.

Agreed. I strongly believe in foia but this is someone clearly abusing fcps employees for fun, wasting tax payer dollars and being a public nuisance.

How much has she paid in foia fees? I don’t know the county’s (state?) foia laws well enough but I know the federal ones.

I do hope someone doxes her. Where are groups like Anonymous when you need them?

Her info is all public and googleable. Callie Oettinger is not a fake name. You can’t dox someone you can easily google.

Then post her address and phone number.

Oh boy. Another bad analogy.

You don’t understand how the wrongful death suit was won or that he was continually sued in order to pay the damages from the civil suit.

There are some hungry attorneys out there. I’m sure at least one will have some ideas for making life difficult for her.

I don’t agree with the PP who hopes that someone will doxx Callie. But someone posting her address or phone number on DCUM *is* doxxing, even if it’s publicly available. I was clarifying the term for people who seem unfamiliar with it.

She kept, read and shared with others our children's private information.

We are where we are because a judge ruled Callie and that other woman can legally publish private medical records. There is no benefit to the public by making these private medical records public.

Callie is a horrible person for doing this and it’s insane we need to legislate common sense. But here we are.

Not true. What she did was criminal.

Nope. That is not what the court ruling said.

But it might work out differently for a class action civil suit by parents. Because what she did was wrong.

You really are foolish. I'm not of friend of Callie's and I don't completely understand what went on but I see you are misrepresenting what she did with the data. If I were her and you said I was sharing that info when I was not, I would sue you.

She shared it with a journalist and she gave thumb drives of the data to the Goldwater Institute. She admits to both of those things. She has redacted examples on her website and the journalist has redacted images posted. That's enough for the claim. A good discovery process might find she shared it with others and that some of what she has posted constitutes sharing--even if she says she doesn't.

Great. Our terrible analogy friend is back.

Since your reading comprehension skills are a 0 (or a 50 by FCPS standards), please see I did say it’s an analogy. Just another terrible one.
