Rolling gun battle in Capitol Hill tonight.

It’s easy to just sit on anon and throw insults. Let’s see the actual plans you have for making things better, and then run so we can vote for you.

It’s interesting to me that people keep mentioning this. There was some opposition forming to Allen last year, but the person most likely to run got redistricted out of the Ward when they redrew the ward maps. The fact that he ran unopposed is more of an accident than evidence of how beloved he is. People are also burned out from Covid. No one I know loves CA’s performance.

Also, DC really suffers from the Hyde Act. A lot if the most qualified people I know are feds who wouldn’t be able to run for office unless they quit their jobs first. Most people have families. It’s not a realistic ask. One if a number of reasons we have such sub-par leadership in DC.

So you want to use a young Black person? Wow! HU grads are too smart for this crap, and you should keep your embarrassingly horrid ideas to yourself.

Why is it a horrid idea to help young people with fresh ideas and energy run for office to displace a corrupt and aging carpetbagger-run structure?

HU has an excellent poli sci programs and it’s students are likely to live in Wards 6 and 1 thus being intimately familiar with the disaster wreaked upon those areas by untalented and self-referential Nadeau and Allen.

I’m also noting your response is well run against him. And when we propose someone who should and would win, you scream it’s a horrid idea. Could it be that’s it’s not a horrid as much as it’s a scary prospect?

It’s a fact that Charles Allen is a persona non grata in his own party. He’s finished.

You better tell Emily’s List their idea is horrid. Oh wait, no one cares what the Allens think. You had your chance. You blew it. Spectacularly and on the national stage.

“ We recruit, train, and support Democratic pro-choice women running for office up and down the ballot. Because in office, these women can change the world.”

The concept of DC Council is a deeply flawed and substandard form of governance

Good luck finding a prospect who aligns with your ideas, or rather, your lack of ideas. "Tough on crime" is not what the university courses are showing as effective or equitable, because it's not. Get some substance before you start talking about recruiting young people. They are smarter than you and will see through you.

Not only does Allen have no political future other than maybe in DC by another fluke (where his voting reform might help him bus in some voters to hold on to his seat), but he’s a human political kryptonite. He’s too toxic to touch or associate with for anyone with any serious political prospects requiring the party support.

He came off as a grandstanding buffoon in the latest couple of fiascos he’s presided over. I can attest to his name leading to groans and eye rolls on the hill amongst his own party. He should resign but seeing how he’s unemployable, he won’t.

He is a buffoon, so well earned.

I’m no longer in his ward so don’t care, but I thought I’d share the facts.

They don’t have to agree with the DC residents. But we all agree getting rid of Allen is a great start and needs to be done even just for what he did so far.

Allen is finished. Maybe he could get a job at the American Petroleum Institute which sponsors his wife’s non-profit?
Anonymous
Dems don’t want Allen. He’s toxic. Even Nadeau, who is dumb as a rock, has been putting some distance between them.

“Use”? No. I’d like to encourage and lend support to someone who is from or spent formative years in and around Ward 6.
What would you like? To keep the old political failure carpetbagger in the office ad nauseam to inflict further harm?

Again -- get some substance. You need more than "I have no ideas, only just iirrational hatred of Charles Allen."

This job is only open to a Black person; whites need not apply.

You're a dinosaur, and young educated people are not on your side.

Honestly, people groan when he’s mentioned on the Hill. Groan and eye roll. His own party
