NO! He is sick of what has been done to a good man. Sickening.

GTFOH. After this display? At best he is temperamentally unfit to be a SCJ; at worst he is a sexual predator.

DP. This "display"? You mean a man finally breaking after being falsely accused of a sexual attack? I don't know how he's been able to hold it together at all for the past ten days - I would have been a complete mess. He's understandably completely emotionally spent and on the verge of tears, especially when speaking of his family and friends.

I am truly repulsed by those of you criticizing his appearance today. Honestly, after watching his testimony, I'm more certain than ever that he is innocent.

Yet when she appeared completely shaken and admittedly melting down on the inside, she was immediately labeled by republican media as crazy and unhinged. He can have a public tantrum after "holding it in" for 10 days. She's a crazy lying liar for appearing shaken after holding it in since she was 17. Wtf is wrong with people, this is so twisted and sad.

It would be hard not to wonder when these incredibly vile accusations were thrown at him so recently.

I think he'll be confirmed. 54% of Republicans think he should be confirmed even if the allegations are true. They think it's a youthful indiscretion and a "good" man shouldn't be denied the opportunity to be on the supreme court.

What disgusts me the most about this is how much he seems to believe that he is owed this. That he deserves to sit on the supreme court. The entitlement of this man is just sickening.

People are denied jobs at mcDonald's over a Facebook post. This dude gets to sit on the highest court in the land?

Just stop.
He was nominated and accepted the nomination. And, then, the crazies came out of the woodwork.
His reputation has been destroyed. He DESERVES to be heard and to clear his name of these ugly allegations.

Agreed. And the idiot Senator Whitehouse, delving into Kavanaugh's yearbook?? Asking him to explain all the stupid inside jokes from high school? That was a real low point. If I had been Kavanaugh, I would have declined to entertain such an absurd line of questioning.

IMO, that would have been an acceptable response. His response was to lie. Not acceptable.

THIS. My jaw actually dropped when he began his song and dance, oh-so-innocently asking Kavanaugh to explain what "ralphing" meant. How incredibly demeaning and irrelevant.

You’re clearly not a lawyer. The point of thise obvious questions is to see if the witness will lie to avoid embarassment. For some inexplicable reason, Kavanaugh chose to lie instead of being honest or declining to answer. That was game, set, match for me. As both a lawyer and a Cathlplic, I am disgusted that someone who values his oath so little constantly clothes himself with the authority of the profession and the faith. He’s a n embarassment to both.

For me I knew Kavanaugh was lying when he was asked questions that could’ve been answered with a yes or a no about Mark judge. Instead of answering yes or no he went into a narrative.

I know someone who learned FBI interrogation techniques and he taught me that if a person does not directly answer a direct question, but instead goes into a narrative,!that’s an indication that they are lying.

I think a lot of this could’ve been avoided if he was just truthful. If at the very beginning when he heard the allegations, he came out and said “I do not remember the incident. However I understand that Dr. Ford had something terrible happen to her and I am terribly sorry to hear about it. If I indeed did do What she said I did, I caused her pain and I regret it. I drink in high school and I was a different person and as I am today. I have grown and changed since that time. And I am so sorry that this occurred “. He said something like that, this would have blown over because he would’ve shown regret. But him saying that he could not of assaulted her because he was a virgin and then doubling down as if he was a choirboy in college. It’s disingenuous and I just don’t find him credible.

That's not working out so well for him. Seems like someone's given him a shovel and he just keeps on digging.

Not at all. He said what needed to be said. It's unfortunate (greatest understatement ever) that he was even put in this position to begin with. Had the Democrats *done their job,* he could have been investigated this summer and had his name cleared by now. And he and his family wouldn't have had to live through hell. This is one of the most reprehensible things I've ever seen.

+1 I agree completely

Liberal here.

I think his testimony was good enough for his successful confirmation. I would cry and be angry too under similar circumstances. They are equally credible, and I believe in innocent until proven guilty." so he wins.

This. Leland knows this was all made up. She said under oath she never met BK. Ford figured her friend would lie for her.

People need to cut it with the race crap on this board. If people kept writing “Black...” in a derogatory way there’d be an uproar. If you have a point, make it without resorting to that

They have nothing else to work with, so they have to resort to the race card. So glad both the accused and the accuser are of the same race so we didn't have to put up with any "he's racist!" B.S.

What leg are most of you standing on? Can anyone honestly address that without some kind of name-calling?

What logic makes the calendar evidence but the medical records not?

Or the yearbook not.

Or the polygraph not. He could easily take one that shows he isn’t lying. That would discredit that piece of evidence. I understand they’re not useable in our justice system, but welcome to the people’s court, Brett.

He was way too angry and partisan. I don't think that was very becoming of a Supreme Court Justice.

Thomas managed to get through accusations without losing his cool

I know. He is aggressive and belligerent when sober! When speaking to the GOP hired prosecutor! When speaking with senators!

He should not drink alcohol at all. And no freaking way his wife didn't know he was a giant asshole.

Way overacted. There's no way you get through that many elite institutions without knowing how to control your feelings for a few hours. It was not at all believable, not one bit. Trump gave him stage directions "seem angry! defend yourself!" and he followed them.

You must be joking. His life has been torn apart. Of course he's angry and of course he's defending himself - as he should. I was heartbroken for him.

The committee got exactly what they deserved from his statement. This whole debacle has been truly disgusting.

I'm sorry, why in the world were you heartbroken for him?!
This does not happen to everyone.
It happened to him for a reason....because his past and temperament make him unsuitable for a Supreme Court justice.
Going through the nomination process is always tough, he knows this, and yet he cried and yelled that it was unfair.

It was more than just a tough nomination process, as evidenced from the beginning with Schumer's comment very soon after Kavanaugh was nominated: "I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same. The stakes are simply too high for anything less."

“One of my proudest moments was when I looked at Barack Obama in the eye and I said, ‘Mr. President, you will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy.”
- Mitch McConnell

Source for Republican media calling her crazy or unhinged? I watched this on Fox all day and that was not at all the case there.
