This is mainly why I think Trump will lose. I’m starting to feel sorry for him. This is really pathetic.

Me too. I understand that polls say it’s tight. But those polls have been weighted to try to capture the occasional voter that Trump brings out. He isn’t bringing anyone new out this year. These crowds are sad.

MLK's family has his image and speeches well tied up with copyrights. I hope they sue and win.

Tim Walz achievement during his pirouette in the spotlight has been to make his counterpart, JD Vance, resemble Aristotle”

Laugh out loud funny.

Did not realize he was still alive. Seems to have declined more abruptly vs Trump. It is no wonder the Republicans kicked him to the curb years and years age. When was he last relevant maybe the first term of Reagan 43 year ago? He was like 60 years old back then.

When will the baby boomers move on?

George Will is not a Boomer, although he is a bit younger than I thought (83). I don't think he's actually liked a Republican since Reagan.

Ouch.

Big "we had a birthday party, and nobody came" vibes.

Maybe the Trump supporters need some OT to learn how to make friends and stop turning off all the other kids from wanting to be around them.

I agree. Yesterday I Facetimed with my 75 yr old mom (who is an Independent and has voted for Republicans and 3rd party candidate in the past) and her sister (Republican like her husband most of her life though my uncle died a few years ago) and they are throwing a party today with their friends and all going to the polls together to vote for who they hope and believe will be the first woman president.

My dad is a right leaning independent who voted for Bush (both of them) and Romney. He hates Trump and is voting Harris (though he thinks she's "too liberal" it's still better than Trump for him.

My best friend from college is a lifelong Republican married to a pro-life advocate (like works on anti-abortion issues for a living). They are both voting for Harris because of J6 (they are patriots, it really angered them) and because of how Trump talks about and treats women.

It's entirely possible I live in a bubble populated by conservatives and moderates who happen to be voting Harris, but it just does not seem like it's possible to win when you have people like this defecting from the GOP. Has Haley been the candidate, I think every one of these people would have voted for her.

Absolutely fair enough.

Let's make that the block party that nobody came to, and with no irony at all, the party-organizers that could use more than a little therapy. Which, frankly, so can we all.

People complain about the MLK copyrights because it can make it hard for, like, a community center to celebrate MLK Day with a poster. But this situation is EXACTLY why the family has done it. They know how easy it is for people to try and use the mantle of MLK for their own selfish purposes and they are trying to prevent that.
