Fire in upper NW?

Why are people so upset about the use of "thug"?

Here is google's definition:
1.
a violent person, especially a criminal.
synonyms: ruffian, hooligan, vandal, hoodlum, gangster, villain, criminal; More

It never says the person can't have ever had a job!

he does have dreds. Would you call the guy in Charlotte a lowlife thug? The guys who killed the Connecticut family are called career criminals not low life thugs, and this guy isn't even a career criminal

I don't understand your investment in him not beig a thug. He's a criminal whose own family took out a restraining order against him. I don't care if he's a welder. He's a thug. And yes the biker/shooters are too.

Exactly. Explains half if DCUM.

All lowlife thugs, yes.

Keep up. He is a career criminal and thug is not synonymous with dreds.

He must have placed his order over the phone, so whoever took his order might have remembered his voice/accent.
Unless he had one of the hostages place the order, but that'd be weird.

This entire story is horrifying and bizarre beyond belief!

I order from that Dominos all the time and never talk to anyone. Order online and when my teen is home alone I tell him to put the money in an envelope outside. I don't let him open the door for anyone.

Before reading your post, I assumed leaving the money outside in an envelope was incredible red flag and would give the delivery person pause. I wonder if it a common practice after all.

+1. The low life petty criminals who killed the Petits in Connecticut were the same. Petty low life criminals who did stupid, seemingly minor crimes who one day went psycho.

Considering the fire, the smoke, etc. that DNA turned up on a piece of pizza is mind-boggling.

Not really, because the guy had a huge rap sheet and wasn't being put away from society.

The most mind-boggling fact for me is how stupid that guy had to be to order pizza in the midst of a hostage situation! I'm sure there was plenty of food in the fridge if he got hungry. WTF??

Just shows how insane he was. I think you have to be pretty insane to do what he did to that family. 2 pizzas tells me he had friends with him.

Shows how psychopathic he is. Research shows psychopaths' discourse focuses quite a lot on their own material comfort, and food is a big part of that. It's consistent with his *likely* psychopathy (given the horrible crimes he committed).

I was just watching CNN and the people who they are interviewing are getting all the facts wrong. Does anyone have a CNN connection? Can you hook them up with Jeff or someone else from this group for an interview. It was embarrassing.

PP here. I don't know. I got the idea from a neighbor with older kids. If I buy it online for him I typically have him out the tip in an envelope on the porch. I do like them to get cash tips.

He's a thug because he tortured a ten year-old to death and then burned him beyond recognition. Personally, I think the term thug is generous. I prefer subhuman.

This is the case about 99% of the time.

When there is an issue or a story that I know something about or have specific knowledge of, the mainstream national media is close to worthless. They aren't worried about being accurate, they are worried about eyeballs.

This does not bode well in terms of convincing the business community to hire ex-cons. I could be wrong but I believe the mayor has been a strong supporter of legislation to encourage business owners to do exactly what SS did... Provide opportunities for those struggling with employment after conviction s.

I am sorry...Can not believe the posters defending him saying he is not a thug. He tortured a little boy for 10 hours in front of his parents! Then killed him and burned him beyond recognition among with his parents and a housekeeper. And you are arguing over semantics? Sick!!! Thug isn't harsh enough, he is a demented twisted animal. Scum of the earth dirtbag, and that goes towards anyone capable of this level of evil! I find even an ounce of defense of this monster and others like him regardless of their race appalling!
